I think the best part of this place is the smoker. Wings are good, beer is priced right, owner is very friendly, but the smoked stuff is the best!
Rumors is a friendly local pub with made to order food, a nice selection of makt beverages and liquor. We are continually told we have the best food in the area at reasonable rates. Outstanding steaks, chops, Best Caesar Salad, Best Burgers and more. Our
Is this place open or closed? I am assuming this is the place in the Ramada, which I thought was closed. You would have to park in the lot near Rt 61 and it would be a bit of a walk especially for old folks or disabled. Last I saw it was an attempt at an upper scale steak house. We are upper scale just excellently done cook to order steaks, seafood, burgers, chicken and chops at 661 N. Centre St a if tan building.

The food was fantastic and you better be hungry because you get a lot. I ordered the clams as an appetizer and for my dinner. Both were fantastic. Fries are home cut and tasty. My girlfriend got the cheese steak and said it was great. Will be back.

First visit here. We had a hard time finding parking even at 5:30 on a Saturday night. The upstairs was almost empty and we were told we could sit anywhere without a chalkboard. Those tables were reserved. We asked if we could go downstairs and they said there was one table with 2 chairs open. The downstairs was nice but a little dark. It was hard to see the menus. I chose broiled scallops, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. While we waited for our food, we checked out the tunnel and that was interesting. The scallops were done perfectly and had a hint of garlic. Mashed potatoes were homemade with gravy and delicious. The broccoli was almost raw and I had a hard time cutting it. I would love to come back here with a group of people and eat downstairs again. Only negatives were the undone broccoli and we didn't get bread with our meal.

My family recently went out to celebrate my sister's birthday. We were visiting Pottsville and this tavern was close to our hotel. It was perfect. The menu had something for everyone with choices from pub snacks to entrees. There was live music that night was a nice surprise. We would definitely go back for more.

I ordered the crabcakes with a salad, twice baked potato and the vegetable of the day which was snow peas and mushrooms. The bread basket was loaded with warm, fresh bread and crackers. The salad had fresh cherry tomatoes, cukes and mixed greens. The ranch salad dressing tasted homemade and excellent. The meal came with 2 crab cakes and they were big! These were some of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten!! The snow peas and mushrooms were are excellent. We were there about 5:30 on a Saturday and after we were seated they were going around asking if we had reservations which we didn't. I asked the server at the end if you need reservations and she said usually you do because they get very busy. We hit it at the right time. My bf had a cheese steak and fries and said is was also very good. He was a little disappointed that they serve Pepsi products but no Mt Dew! I highly recommend this place but make reservations so you aren't disappointed waitibg!
To be fair, the night we tried Bum's they were very busy and the staffed seemed overwhelmed. That being said, we waited a very very long time for our meal to be served. Which we could of dealt with if the food was outstanding. However it was just OK. Not bad but not great either. It's a casual place that serves burgers and pulled pork,..etc. I tried the jambalaya...it had a great flavor but lacked in the meat department. It only had 2 slices of sausage and very little of any other meats. Mostly just peppers and onions. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was tasty but sloppy and greasy. The entire staff was very friendly and apologetic, so that was a plus. I feel bad about giving Bum's this mediocre review because they are just starting up...but the facts are the facts. We will try it again on a week day when they aren't as busy and see if the experience is better.

Deer Lake Pub & Restaurant provided the perfect venue for our family gathering. A large table comfortably accommodated our group of nine. I chose DLP&R for a number of reasons. One was its proximity to Seton Manor. Two, it accepted reservations. Three, the large menu offered a variety of local dishes which I miss living in Texas. Perogies with caramelized onions and buttery were great! Liver and onions were perfectly prepared sliced thin and with a mild flavor. The turkey dinner was a pleasant surprise because the turkey was "real" turkey, not sliced processed turkey. The shrimp kabob offered tender shrimp which easily can be overcooked. I was able to enjoy Yuengling beer which is not available in Texas. And, freshly-baked rolls were fluffy and tasty. Desserts also were delicious. My only concern was service because it appeared that only one waitress was assigned to the room which was somewhat busy for a Thursday evening. However, she was friendly and handled the room appropriately. We will return on our next trip.

We had heard great things about this small-town restaurant and now that we have finally gotten here, we will definitely be returning!Don't let the "small-town restaurant" idea throw you off. This restaurant is definitely top-notch in both atmosphere & food!!!!! As we were waiting for our meals to arrive (that was the only downfall of the evening....a bit slow on the service), we commented that the restaurant was actually quiet & very conducive to a relaxing meal. Too often, we have dined at highly-rated restaurants and have had issues with the noise level. Definitely not a concern here! Our server was extremely friendly and, after we told her that this was our first visit, offered suggestions & more-than-ample descriptions of menu & Special of the Day items.I wanted a simple meal so I ordered the Chicken Quesadillas. Very happy with both the flavor & portion size......had enough leftovers to take home for my next day's lunch. My spouse decided to go with the Prime Rib. It was highly touted by our server and she was right. A flavorful piece of beef, prepared perfectly to his medium-rare request. He was also very impressed with his side dishes........a Baked Potato & Harvard Beets......both served piping hot!!!! We highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. We drove almost an hour to get here......and with the warm, attentive service & wonderful food that we received, we'll be more than happy to put more mileage on our car to continue to dine here in the future.
