If youâre looking for a great Neighborhood Gathering Place right in the heart of Olney, MD, youâve found it! Featuring âGood Eatsâ and friendly service since 1991. We use only high quality fresh ingredients and prepare everything to order from our own rec
We had lunch here recently with friends who live in the area. Because of several stacked stone walls, I could see the interior of the restaurant had been updated, and the ambiance was pleasant. Our table shared two startersâfried oysters and potato skins with the usual trimmings plus crab. The oysters were good, but my husband and I thought the crab didnât quite work with the skins. I had a Cobb salad for lunch. It was good, but whoever made it dumped at least a half cup of shredded cheese on top. So much Cheddar detracted from the overall mix of the salad ingredients, and I spent a lot of time picking out and discarding cheese. My husband had meatloaf which he thought was just okay. And our friend got her favorite sandwichâthe Olney Grille. She kept commenting that the flavor was good, but the bread had too much mayonaise and was soggy. The iced tea was good, and the service was friendly.

My sister selected this place for lunch. The service was very good and we enjoyed the food. My sisters got a Mango Chicken salad and a falafel pita sandwich. I got a Californian sandwich which was larger than expected- with sliced turkey, swiss cheese and cole slaw- very good. I added fries instead of chips- I loved them as they were very crispy- the way I like fries.

Iconic Maryland bar and restaurant serving famous crab dip, fresh & never frozen 100% beef burgers, fan-favorite wings, a $7.99 lunch menu, and a wide selection of local, craft, and specialty beers. Always a good game on TV, and every seat has a good view
Appetizers and sandwiches are always delicious. It's a busy place after work hours, so lunch time is best time to go. Who wants a wait, or a crowd...

While I've classified this as "average", it really is a bit better than that just not quite "very good". Over the years, I've had a couple of disappointments, but mostly consistently good food. They make a very good Philly Cheesesteak, but the breakfasts are just average. We've been here for breakfast (open on weekends only), lunch, and dinner although when we've been here during the dinner hour, we mostly order sandwiches or similar diner food. I've been here as a couple, with friends, with family, with small children; all work. Service can be "spotty"; we've had excellent service some times and other times not so great. My biggest complaint is that there is a centrally located bar area usually with "regulars" who can be noisy so it's not a quiet place and ambiance is not a plus. I've put "cheap eats" rather than "mid-range" just because I think the prices are pretty good for what you order. While it's definitely NOT fast-food type prices you can easily eat here on a budget and enjoy the experience! ;-)
