This 'Station' Café-Restaurant is in the 'Four Corner' (Quatro Cantos) part of Olinda, which due to its bars and pubs can get very lively in the evenings. For me it was the closest place to go out, when staying at the 'Pousada Dos Quatro Cantos'. To go to the café one has to first pass a souvenir shop with mainly clothes. The café itself is in a courtyard, which is partly covered with a beams and tiles roof. There are many plants in there, in pots or climbing up the wooden pillars. It has several small tables with a round glass top. I liked the atmosphere and for me it was the best about the place. The menu card looked interesting with all kind of Brazilian specialities, mainly from Pernambuco. Since it was written only in Portuguese and since the staff didn't speak any foreign language, I ordered more ore less by chance.'Bolinhas de Chambaril' sounded interesting to me, so I was served eight small 'Breaded Balls of Marrowbone', together with a Barbecue-Tamarind-Sauce in a separate little bowl, which I could have refilled without problem. With it I drank a 375ml bottle of red 'Periquita' wine from Sétubal, Portugal and it wasn't very good.It was a Saturday evening, when there, and this is one of two evenings in the week (together with Friday), when the Café only closes at 11pm and not at 8.30pm as usual, and when there is live music (5 BRL extra charge on the bill). It was a singing and guitar playing young lady with easy listening Brazilian tunes.I finished my small dinner with an Espresso and an aged Pitu Gold Cachaça.

This place was a little surprise I just stumbled into. Very small, a homey part convenience store, part bar. They serve quart size beers (mine was "Antartic") and plates of antipasto. The little sausages and peppers I had on the antipasto were particularly good.
