Find out what Bar restaurants to try in North Holland Province. Mostly jutting northward from its largest city of Amsterdam and its capital of Haarlem, the Noord-Holland region has much more to offer beyond those two wonderful cities. At Muiden is the magnificent Muiderslot Castle, as if it stepped out of a fairy tale. Showing more wear but no less interesting is Brederode Castle at Santpoort. At Zaanstad is Zaanse Schans, one of Holland’s top tourist destinations and a family-friendly open air museum of windmills, traditional buildings, crafts and shops.

We went for dinner and met in Gollem. Awesome place with very well stocked bar and entresol area with tables, scores of beers on draft, finger food available, old wood interior, but fantastically cramped. When it gets crowded it becomes tricky to move around. Anyhow, good ambiance, good beer, recommend de Zotte blond as well as the Gollem IPA.

We chose this restaurant based on the highly related reviews. While the pork and chicken schnitzel were very good, our overall experience was not. Our first waitress, a twentysomething young lady, was cordial and professional, an older waitress was rude and very unprofessional. As Americans traveling abroad, we are well aware of the negative, justly earned, perceptions of those Americans whom have visited Amsterdam before us. We entered this highly rated establishment, two hours after arriving, and we were determined to demonstrate that all Americans are not the same. Our second waitress, the elder, seemed determined to make this our last visit. It all began when we asked, halfway through completing our meal, for the bread we ordered. When she did return with the bread, she left so abruptly that we could not stop her to ask about the herbed butter. We gave up on that. In the meantime, I had asked for the same sauces as another table, pointed directly at them, but never recieved them. Having over thirty years of hospitality experience, I've never seen a more blatantly rude waitress. Again, we came into this establishment with the intention of making a good impression. We paid for everything, didn't demand any compensation for the missing herb oil for the bread, which resembled a common American white bread bun cut in strips, and tipped well. Visiting Amsterdam, we expected servers to be aloof but this was shockingly rude. We loved Amsterdam and enjoyed our stay upon leaving this restaurant.

We had a lovely and tasty lunch by complete surprise. Great price we paid 16.50 and had a sandwich each (a lot of ingredients which were home made) and fries to share. The staff was very nice too!

- WINNER OF 'BEST LOCAL RESTAURANT 2019' - A brand new organic (veggie) restaurant, focused on sustainability and exclusivity. We work with organic and quality products that can be found in fine dining restaurants, but with a funky atmosphere and setting.
Funky little place... Small inside but great friendly service. I was alone and the staff made me feel very welcome indeed. Even chatted about what I had been up to during my visit to Zaandam.I ordered hot chocolate and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was fab. Really enjoyed this little place.. funky music.. a lot of cocktails on the menu along with beers and wines.I ate early (around 5pm) so did not soak up the evening atmosphere but I would imagine that ambience is very cool in the evenings.Great little place... recommend a visit for some decent food at a decent price!!Hi Suitcasesally22, Thank you very much for your review :DReviews like this, always makes us blush! We hope to see you again. Kind Regards, Dévon Valies (your waiter) Burger Cartel

We love food, every second, every minute and every hour we think about food. Eating shouldn't be done only three times a day. We like to eat all day long. That is why our kitchen is open till late in the evening. In our kitchen we don't differentiate be
One can easily walk past this hidden gem, but once located, youâre in for a treat. Small, quaint and personalised service. The knowledgable barmen knew his stuff, my limited time here was enjoyed, along with the three cocktails. Old Fashioned, with syrup, was my only pet peeve.

I had the pumpkin soup and fish of the day and both were spectacular. The service was perfect - attentive but not overwhelming. I was staying at the hotel and when I finished my lunch, they called to the reception so someone could come and take me to my room (I was waiting for it to be ready).Dear Beth,Thank you for taking the time to write this review and share it on TripAdvisor. How lovely to learn that you've had a wonderful time at Brasserie Ambassade. Hopefully we will welcome you again soon in Hotel or Brasserie Ambassade.Kind regards from Amsterdam

We came across this place when looking for somewhere cheap and casual to eat. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and the quality was great. I had the Tuna Salad on Toast which was divine with a glass of wine, which was only 3.90 Euro. This was the cheapest glass of wine I had in Amsterdam. I will definitely return here next time I'm in Amsterdam.Hey liz, Thanks for the review! Happy to hear you thought the price-quality combination was good for you guys.Hope to see you again soon!groetjes, broer

In the middle of Amsterdam's Jordaan quarter you will come across a cosy seafood restaurant. Seafood with a twist that is... Because we do not only serve a mean classic Fish and Chips (our speciality) but we also offer a variety of mussel dishes, oysters,
After passing this restaurant hundreds of times, we finally decided to visit. They definitely do the best fish and chips in Amsterdam. The chips were as close to what youâd get in the UK as possible, plus they had excellent quality fish and a great selection of beers too. We both had cod and chips each, and shared the shrimp croquettes. All food was excellent. Service was very friendly too. The price tag reflects the quality...if visiting from the UK donât expect to pay what you usually would in your local chip shop. This is more gourmet fish and chips rather than cheap as chips :)We will definitely be back and are relieved to have found somewhere for fish and chip Friday!Hi,So happy to read we finally won you over after passing hundreds of times. Thanks for your kind review, it is good to read you where pleased with all of it.See you again for a fish and chip Friday;)Cheers,Enno

The 'olde worlde' decor creates a charming ambience in a traditional Dutch setting, that's pleasant at lunchtime and likely even more delightful and cosy at night. The menu is wide ranging with both traditional and more contemporary choices with both light meals or the full three course a la carte options. The bar is pretty well full service and it's nice to find delicious alternative beers like Texel instead of the omnipresent Heineken!Service is friendly, helpful and polite with menus in both English and Dutch.Prices are very reasonable and reflect good value.Overall a very enjoyable place to meet up with friends for lunch or dinner, or even a snack and a beer on your own!Goedendag, Hartelijk dank voor uw leuke beoordeling. Wij hopen dat u ons nog eens bezoekt in cafe Sonneveld.

The Happy Bull is a burger restaurant located in Amsterdam South, near end of the Vondel park by the Hoofddorpplein. We specialize in hamburgers and milkshakes. Our love and passion for high quality food has quickly earned us the reputation of serving the
A less formal simple dinner with colleagues while travelling. We were looking for a place to relax and enjoy some straight forward food. The Happy Bull didnât disappoint. We were joined by another colleague and although very busy the friendly and helpful staff were able to fit in one more. You do need to book. Iâm not sure you can be certain of a table if you just drop in. Thankfully you can book via TripAdvisor. The food was very well done. The onion rings were great. We all went for a burger of some kind, and the options are extensive. They cater for all tastes with chicken and vegetarian options also available. The craft beer menu was good with a wide range of US beers to add to the Americana feel. Value for money was excellent too. Three of us were well fed with several beers for â¬35/head.
