Made a planned stop in Rathfriland to meet up with someone and chose The Old George for our lunch after walking around the town. We wanted a quaint pub and this fit the bill. The people in the pub were very friendly. We hadn't been able to find the person I town we were looking for so we mentioned his name to the lady behind the bar. She said she knew him and promptly phoned him to say there were two Canadian ladies in the pub looking for him. It was great, we sure appreciated it. Had a filling tasty lunch, price was good and a cold lager. I'd stop there again if in the area. I saw where someone said it was dark etc, well it is but I thought it to be part of the pub charm that we love.

My friend and I thought we would like to try this place. We had the deep fried mushroom starter and shared this, it was very nice. Then we had the fish sampler, and that was very good. The service was very pleasant and we had no waiting time at all. Glad we came here and tried it out and hope to come back. The one thing we are sorry about is the parking, it is really hard to find a parking space nearby, especially if you are handicapped.

We reserved a table online which was great.Waitress was very attentive and helpful.Prompt with taking drink/food order.Could not fault service.Food was but disappointing, it wasn't very warm. I had goujons and they didn't seem fresh. The fish and chips was ordered--Peas were cold and fish quite greasy. No complaints with chicken curry.

My husband and I had lunch here recently and we were quickly seated and our order taken. The servers were very friendly and our food was brought out in a timely manner. Truthfully, the food was just ok - it was nothing special. It wasnât bad - just nothing to write home about. We both ordered the steak sandwich and the best thing I can say is that the gravy was very tasty and made the steak and fries taste much better!Dear Stephanie D Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am delighted that you found the staff and efficiency good in our Granary Bar. I am disappointed to read that you found the food just ok, as we take great pride in offering the highest quality to our customers. I will certainly bring this to the attention of our head chef and can only apologise that it was not up to the usual high standards. I do hope this would not deter you from returning and thank you for making us aware. Warm RegardsOrla HayesMarketing Manager

As the name might suggest, this venue was once a bank, but don't imagine a transformed local branch of Northern Bank this is a grand, towering building with ornate ceilings and has been restored to its former glory, encompassing some original features, an
Visited The Bank Bar today for our family Sunday lunch. Service was fantastic and the food was outstanding, I had the roast beef with all the trimmings but the whole group were very impressed with their selection, steak sandwiches, burgers and Prawns. Definitely be back!

Went on a recommendation, so was looking forward as had heard only good things. Kitchen very slow as requested dinner first to pacify child, but didn't happen and when asked again it still wasn't ready. Had fillet steak and disappointed, as definitely over, but waited too long on it to send it back. Other family members disappointed with their selection also. Had to go downstairs to use baby changing facilities, but decided against this as toilets were disgusting. Wouldn't go back.
