We went around the Neustadt without really finding any place to eat. Finally we saw" The hole in the wall" Bautzner Tor. Wouldn't have entered during the -smoking permitted- era. But now-yes! Nice &relaxed service. Crowded on a friday night. First we had a drink and hesitated to have meals but then decided to give it a try. We were pleased with Schweineschnitzel and the saussage with potatosallad. Lots of food!! Italian red wine good and perfectly tempered. How come LP has missed this place????.

Excellent food, very large portions for a good price. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. The resturant has a lovely upbeat atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit while in Dresden!!

Stopped in to try the zwickel beer and was not disappointed. It was one of the best beers we had along our 2 week trip in Europe. Got a spot at the bar and the bartender was nice and we had a great time drinking a few of these amazing beers.

The crispy pork was fantastic! A total must get. We sat outside which was really nice at first until we were swarm with flies. Not sure if itâs because of our food that smelled extra delicious because we didnât see other people having the same problem. Despite this, we would still recommend this place, perhaps eating the food inside instead!

We dropped into the Shankhaus as we were looking for a traditional German dining experience. We found the restaurant did have a Bavarian feel with rustic wooden finishes and decor. The Germans are veey good at this sort of thing. The service was nice and friendly and prompt. Unfortunately the food was pretty average, the meat on the roast pig knuckle (half size) was very tough and not really edible but the crackling, cabbage and dumplings (kloser) was very nice. The horse meat rouladen was okay but again the meat a bit dried out and not the melt in your mouth it should have been. The gravy, red cabbage and bratkartoffel were very good. The beer on tap was pretty much on par with most German beers so also very nice.Whilst the dining experience wasn't a disaster it wasn't fantastic either (we have eaten a lot of traditional German fare so can make reasonable assessments). Not sure if i would make a return visit as there a many other options in walking distance to try first. Could have been a bit better.Possibly worth a try if in Dresden's Alt Stadt.

After travelling from Berlin to Dresden by train, we were looking for a place to eat and drink.Near the main shopping area, and on the road we came across this restaurant. Lots of shaded seating outside. We sat down and were served straight away by a friendly waitress who spoke excellent English. We had a few beers and cocktails, plus shared a currywurst as the portions are huge!

The Karl May Bar at Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden is a haven for everyone involved with the culinary arts - and especially with bar culture. The bar's ambience pays tribute to the vibrancy of the metropolises pulsating around the world. Elabor
We were booked to go for dinner but wanted to have a glass of Fizz before so we stumbled across this bar in a very snazzy hotel, the bar is very well presented, old west style with native Indian and cowboy memorabilia... lovely ambience, very nice easy listening music and excellent service by Elin who was very helpful, polite, friendly and sweet. Would definitely recommend visiting at happy hour, they have a seriously extensive drinks menu and offer anything you could possible want! Enjoy your visit :-)

I went here with several colleagues and had the schnitzel with white asparagus. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff efficient with the food brought quickly. There is also a quirky water fountain. An enjoyable meal washed down with a few beers. Thank you!

This is the hidden jem of Chemnitz. Roland Keilholz and his Team are doing a wonderful Job preparing the best Quality of dishes in town. Light German cuisine with italian and asian influences. The best meat and fish you get within 50 kilometers. And yet it is not very expensive. You definitely have to go there.
