What else one can appreciate more than a master of his trade at the right place.I spent only few hours in Modica on my whole-day trip to Etna. But t was enough to sense special island-culture of Sicily and the spirit of people here. Not ingatiating toward tourists, but polite and friendly.I went in Martin Cafe for "some italian sweet drink and a cappuccino", as I told the bartender who was probably the owner, I got a glass of fine Muscat wine.Cozy place.

One of Modica's ladies recommended I eat at "Sorsi e Morsi." Although I speak very basic Italian, the owners Eleonara and her husband Matthia (the chef) made me feel welcome!! They had great food at a great price. I ordered a new take on the classic Carbonara...this one was with Tuna Bottarga and Flat Parsley. For the next course, I ordered the pork shins which were so tender, you did not need a knife. The infused rosemary made this dish glow with aroma! The wine and beer they serve are Sicilian which is a nice way to express pride for this region of Italy. I did not order the pizza, but two locals ordered it and enjoyed it very much!! Great food and of course Great people. Thank you Eleonara and Matthia for your hospitality!!
