It's been awhile since I've been to an Applebee's, it wll be quite awhile before I go back. Stopped with a family group on our way home from a trip. The food is average bar food. The service is below average, had to wait at times for waitress. I don't like the fact that you don't get a receipt at the restaurant, you have to request one to be emailed to you. I really did not get to look at it until I got home. That's when I discovered I was charged for my 4 year old grand daughter playing games on the electronic device at the table. The whole experience was less than thrilling, and to see the game charges on the bill was enough to really tick me off. The device was not handed to an adult, it was at the table at the seat of a 4 year old. What a poor way for Applebee's to earn a few bucks.

Ideal for young people who likes sports, drinking and noise. Huge variety of different chicken wings, which were really tasty. Our son-in-law took us and I was not too keen but we had the best variety of chicken wings and potato cheese bites. I really enjoyed mudslide. Huge place with good service but noisy as it is a sports bar.

I happened to be off during the last snowstorm. Everything closes down like itâs the end of the world, but we saw lights outside and thought this place might be opened. Iâve lived in Middletown for awhile and it took a snowstorm to get me to check out this place. Itâs really a bar and not a restaurant because their license does not allow anyone under 21 to enter. What a great find. Our bartender Megan was awesome and we really enjoyed meeting Chuck, the owner. We had a few beers and ordered the crab fries. OMG good!! The plate was huge and topped with real crab meat. It was a meal. I should have taken a pic. We saw other food come out of the kitchen that looked delicious. The owner gave us a taste of the crab soup, which was excellent. Very legit. We will definitely be back. The building has a great history and it was a fun environment. Sorry it took us so long.

Iconic Maryland bar and restaurant serving famous crab dip, fresh & never frozen 100% beef burgers, fan-favorite wings, a $7.99 lunch menu, and a wide selection of local, craft, and specialty beers. Always a good game on TV, and every seat has a good view
The bar has a decent selection of drafts and service has always been quite nice. The bartenders usually introduce themselves which makes this one of the friendlier places to patronize. The food is good but not overwhelmingly so. It's a good place for groups because its not overly noisy even with all the TVs.

1861 has everything to make it a great pub - food, brews and bourbons, among other things. The food menu was particularly attractive because it offers a number of veggie/vegan options.I recommend the "backyard burger" for carnivores, and don't kill the great taste with ketchup!

When we came in we were greeted immediately and given a table. The restaurant is very clean. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was soooooo good! You have to try their tater tot appetizer they make them fresh stuffed with scallions and cheese the ranch dressing is made in house and soooo delicious but not available until after 3pm (pictured below). As you can see in pics, below they have large portions and all from scratch. The chicken and waffles come with homemade strawberry butter! There chicken is out of this world it is seasoned down to the bone! The gravy is also homemade with homemade biscuits. Only draw back they didn't have grits made but offered me another side on the house! Also I wish they offered more desserts they usually just have 2 You can pick from. I like that yoiu get to watch the cooks make your food and they serve breakfast all day. They have daily specials up on the chalfkboard. You must go you won't be disappointed.

Excellent chef. Food outstandibg. But poir acoustics so difficult to have a conversstion. Attentuon badlt needed to decor. Furniture in piir condition and carpeting so visibly firty and stained we will not take friends there. It would be embarassing. crabcakes are outstanding â as is the shrimp cocktail.

While in Middletown for a movie we stopped with our granddaughter and our son to get a bite to eat. Decided on sharing appetizers and went with the southwestern egg rolls, boom boom shrimp, crab dip and the cheesy tater tots. The food was delicious and hot and came relatively fast. Having never been here before we werenât sure what to expect but weâre pleasantly surprised. The three adults ordered beer and while it was not from a tap we were disappointed that cans were set down rather than being served in a beer glass.
