Had this place recommended to us by an ex-pat we know. We were greeted by a very friendly bubbly guy who looked after us well. The food was first class & we had a really enjoyable time. Will definitely return.

We ate twice here in the evening during our stay at the Corinthia Palace. The meat and cheese platter (serves 2) and lasagne ( daily special) were both excellent and there is a good choice of local and international wine to drink as well as a fully stocked bar. Service is friendly and the bar is popular with the locals. We didn't book but this is probably to be advised. The building is historic and there is an outside seating area for when the weather is warmer. Happy to recommend...

Tucked away in a quiet area. Nicely decorated inside, run by a friendly husband and wife team. The food was interesting, combining Indian, Italian and Chinese. The sharing platter was a mixture of several cuisines, not really sure how spring rolls fit in. Puddings were all shop bought, not home made. Thank you for taking the time to review The Old Charm.We are happy you like the place, and the friendly atmosphere, we always aim to make it a welcoming place for people to relax and enjoy drinks, and food without all the fuss of a formal restaurant feel, as we are ultimately a Winebar.We are very impressed that you have quite clearly understood our concept, of offering a mixture of cuisines which is obviously noticeable in the platters we offer. We aim to provide something a little different in Naxxar. We also offer a small selection of Indian food, influenced by family recipes, and introduce spices into some of our Mediterranean dishes to add something slightly unusual but in a good way we hope.You also mentioned the puddings, you are right they are not made in-house, however they are carefully selected by us from a local bakery, and we can assure you that they are not sold in shops. I visit this place frequently, it is so welcoming.. Mel's cooking is to die for, best place for a British sunday roast or a full English breakfast, fun atmosphere with very friendly stuff and a great mix of customers. Cheap prices and great service, what more could you ask for?

We actually went here for lunch because our 'usual' restaurant was closed, so found this on Trip Advisor instead. But we were not disappointed. The food was beautifully cooked and the portions were large. We definitely over ordered: a pizza to share as a starter, risotto and a mixed grill (mostly to share both between us) as a main. The pizza and risotto would have been enough for us both so when the mixed grill arrived were were already fairly stuffed, but it was too good to leave any. We didn't want to eat for the rest of the day and still felt full the next day! The only downside was the huge number of flies which were constantly around the tables. Some fly deterrents would have been helpful, but it seems this is the month for flies as they're everywhere. Overall definitely recommend this place. Friendly staff and good value for the large portions.

Just back from a holiday in Malta where we had one day where it did rain so we went for a drive to Rabat and after walking round looking into overcrowded restaurants we stumbled across the Bottegin Palazzo and it was well worth the find.Having had a large breakfast we were looking for somewhere to have some cake & a drink and i have to say this place was excellent.Great staff and a great menu all in a beautiful building .We opted for the date tart served with ice cream and i have to admit this was thee best date tart i have ever had! and a very generous portion size as well!!!.Whilst sitting having our food & drink we did notice the dishes coming out of the kitchen which looked amazing & HUGE so i do believe we will be travelling back to here next year !.Keep up the great workDear Carlos S,Many Thanks for your review. This restaurant is in a beautiful building, and was recommended to us by a woman selling her amazing pastries obliquely opposite. We were not disappointed. We were served by a young man from Philippines, who was extraordinarily attentive, service oriented and told me about the history of the building and the woman who owned it. I ordered the special and my boyfriend had a pizza with pistachio cream and salmon. Both were amazing. The food is excellent, the service is wonderful, and I highly recommend both the food here and the pastry shop across the street for extras to take away!!

Not your typical touristy café/snack bar near St. Paulâs Catacombs, Il-Baxa is but a surprisingly great dining place with absolutely amazing homemade pasta and soup. Their food is brought up in an old elevator chute, hot and fresh! I really cannot recall a better place for fresh pasta outside of Italy. Thank you for sparing your time to review il-baXa.
