OVERPRICED...$39 dinner(per person) Had better meals at low end diners! Where do I begin? Asked if we could eat in the bar..they said OK but that we'd have a longer wait to be served? We sat in the dining area to not complicate things. The server made it sound like they were packed/rushed/busy busy however there was only 1 table occupied in the whole dining area and maybe 5 people in the bar! Food was nothing special and no more quality/quantity than any typical steak house. The medium size POTATO (this is an Idaho potato served in an Idaho establishment) was dry and so overcooked (maybe yesterday's baker reheated?) that only a very small portion was edible! The outer portion (about 1/2" depth) was so hard that it took a steak knife to cut thru it with more effort than cutting the steak!! Yes I like to eat all of it! Every chef should be able to make a great basic baker! Another couple arrived after we had been there around 35-40 mins and I overheard the server tell them that they needed to get a table ready as they just had a rush of diners! Hum..guess 2 occupied tables qualifies as a rush? Server then made them wait about 5 mins before they were seated. Not sure why all this took place as she was not behind the scene?? All tables were clean and set except for the 2 occupied and one other? The employees seemed  overwhelmed with this small crowd! We will not return!
While staying in McCall on a family trip, my son turned 21. After dinner he and I hit The Forester for a celebratory drink. Inside we found a western honky-tonk atmosphere, with a long bar with very capable bartenders, a few pool tables, and a big ol' dance floor and DJ to liven things up. A couple of bachelorette parties came in and stayed for awhile, so the locals seem to really like The Forester, too.
Stopped in for dinner. Wanted to eat in the bar instead of the restaurant, which seemed fancier. The bar was decorated with old signs, old metal toys and things from yesteryear. Really fun to look at. We got a beer. I usually order wine but the price was so high, I was unwilling to pay $9 for a glass. We asked for a menu, and it was the same as the dining room, which was high priced and really didn't seem to match the bar feeling. They allow smoking in the bar, which got worse over the half hour we were there. We decided this was not our type of place and found dinner elsewhere. Probably won't be back.

It's so great to have a spot to get a good burger & local brew in this isolated stretch north of McCall. The service is super friendly and the ambiance is classic outback Idaho. Definitely give them a visit.

Whether you want a quick snack after your round of golf, a cocktail & an appetizer on the patio, or a romantic dinner, the Clubhouse is your perfect location. Nestled at the base of Jug Handle Mountain, enjoy the spectacular views and sunsets from our bea
The chef that used to be here was wonderful--but it has changed a bit. There were only 3 courses for a main dinner. We had the shrimp appetizer and then split the salmon dinner. Both were good, but nothing to rave about. there are lots of options for sandwich and burger type food. We still enjoy dining here because of the view and relaxing patio.

The food is always good. The drinks are delicious. The service is usually wonderful. The prices are high, but typical for a "resort" restaurant.

Great place to grab lunch or dinner before or after boating or if you just want something casual, quick and convenient. Menu changes every year, but the food has been consistently good, and along with drinks sitting outside on the lake, you cannot beat it.

Hwy.55/Warren Wagon Road - Across from Shore Lodge
this place which looks like a battered skiers barn with worn carpet looks almost out of place in mid summer. you can just picture it in winter with red faced apre ski drinkers at the bar spilling over for dinner. basic menu choices...advertises spaghetti which we have not tasted. you can tell it is an institution here. near the shore lodge end of town. very woodsy.lots of interesting old stuff around to see.Hello, Thanks for the feedback. Although it does look like you enjoyed the majority of your visit with us, we do apologize for any inconsistencies causing a rating of 3-stars. This feedback is appreciated so that we may make improvements in the future, and we do hope to see you again soon!

Some of our group of 9 really enjoyed the food but several of us did not. Their signature beer cheese soup was runny, we thought, although the taste was okay. Others in our group really liked the soup. The waiter brought our main dish before our salad which was crunchy and fresh. We couldnât eat our chicken wrap because the sauce in it was not good at all. The waiter was really nice though and offered us a sample of a beer he thought we might like. Of course, then we felt obligated to order one which was really not to our taste. Another couple shared a Ruben which they thought was okay but nothing special. We would not return but some of our group would.

Food was good. Service was slow. Appears management is clueless. Red bearded greeter was focused on surfing internet while customers waited. This restaurant needs leadership. Cook did good and food came out pretty fast and was good. Chocolate beer was tasty.
