Went here for dinner last evening thought it had to be a T bone medium rare for a hungry me - not cheap but so what I needed it- apart from being maybe 1cm âthickâ it was shocking from the first touch of the knife and you can see the final product in the photo. Sinew, gristle just bloody awful. I wish Iâd sent it back but never been a fan of that - wifeâs duck helped her diet as some little meat, best meal was the bangers n mash! The cheapest also be far. Wonât be backHi Mike, thank you for letting us know and providing photos - we do wish you had sent it back so our Chef on the night could have fixed it immediately for you. We have used your feedback for training in the team and so we very much appreciate you sharing the problem. We do hope that you will return and give us another chance some time, as we offer a weekly steak night special and we are keen to get it right for you next time. All the best.

The food was delicious and portions generous. The only negative was the service was quite slow and when we arrived there was only one other table occupied. However the waitress did apologise for the long wait time. What I really like about this cafe is they have a seperate menu for gluten free customers. I would go back but I would make sure I have plenty of time.

A great little corner hotel across the road from the beach. Just casual enough. Good food and great service. Drinks at usual bar prices and plenty of choice on menu, although seafood was a specialty for us!Very friendly and welcoming service. Indoor and outdoor settings. We stopped by for dinner but would go back anytime.

The Canteen was our go to for breakfasts on this trip. Why? Great menu with excellent cooked and fresh fruit based options. And it has a great view of Coolum beach, in the morning sun. But the coffee is at best average, certainly not up to NZ standard. And we did not dine in the evening as the beer options are extremely traditional. Today is the era of craft beers and in 2019 there are good ones brewed nearby - try them, I have and they are great and would get us here!Thank you for your review Kenz. I am glad you enjoyed our breakfasts and the wonderful view at Canteen. I apologise that our coffee is not to your liking. We do have qualified baristas on our machine. Our head barista has been with us for over 2 years, she is full time and works 5 mornings per week. I do appreciate your comments on our beer selection and I will take this on board when reviewing our selection for our Spring Menu. However, we do have craft beers on tap and in bottles. We do only have 4 taps, which include Heads of Noosa Japanese Lager or Balter Pale Ale, Mountain Goat Steam Ale, Asahi and Stone and Wood. So, of our 4 taps, 3 are craft beers and 1 international beer. We also stock Young Henry's Newtowner, Your Mate's Larry's Pale ale in Cans and Burleigh Big Head No Carb Lager along with 16 other styles of beer. I am wondering if you came in at happy hour and only read our happy hour selection which is a choice of 4 beers which rotate both craft beers, local and international beers.Again, thank you for your comments, as mentioned above we will take all feedback on board to improve Canteen's future offerings.

We had lunch at this club, we arrived at mid-day. There was a blackboard menu with a reasonable selection of food to choose from. I ordered brains and bacon with vegies, and my wife ordered chicken parmy with vegies. but alternately chips & salad could be had. The meal arrived after only a short wait and were pleased with the size of the meals and importantly it was "cooked" The parmy was $19 & brains were $13:50. We will definitely be returning to sample their other offerings including lambs fry & Bacon.

Not only did it take an hour after we ordered for our food to arrive, but people who arrived 10 - 15 minutes after we had ordered, and who ordered after that still got served their food before us. When we questioned whether our order was perhaps misplaced, the server said it hadn't and they were just busy. We ended up having to rush the meal. While the view is good (overlooks the beach) the ambiance doesn't lend itself to spending over an hour there. We ordered three steak and one chicken meals. Overall, one out of four was nice. Medium steak was way too blue, well done steak was like boot leather and the chicken tasted like oiled breadcrumbs (not chicken). Don't know if we will return.
