Tucked away in the old quarter of Penzance, The Cornish Barn is a rustic restaurant, bar and smokehouse in Penzance serving a wholesome menu with a focus on fresh Cornish produce â all helped along by craft beers and wines from local independent vineyards
We had drinks here one night, and came back the next night for dinner. We loved the warm, cosy decor, good choice of drinks and pretty good food. The only thing that wasnât great was the service; a lot of errors both times, the staff were friendly but lacked professionalism. They forgot to bring menus and to seat us in the restaurant until well after the reservation time, and every drinks order was messed up. All in all, however, we forgave the slapdash service because the ambiance and food made up for it. We would go again if we were in the area.Good evening honeyHenleyonThames,Thank you for your time writing this review.I am happy to hear that you loved the atmosphere of the Restaurant, and I will be sure to pass on your comments about the food on to the kitchen.I am sorry that the service was not to the standards that you wanted. Traditional Cornish village pub with home cooked food, offered six/seven nights a week, all year round, using fresh and locally sourced produce offering great value for money. Children, families and dogs are always welcome at anytime in either the public
Use this pub frequently recently since our regular had been taken over with new management. This is a typical local pub with good "pub grub". Don't expect glitz and glamor, but always friendly with good food.. Can get busy during holiday season so ring up in advance to be sure of having a table. Tried their rib eye steak and presently surprised that it was cooked perfect M/R, tender and juicy with plenty of flavour. Only slight disappointment recently is that the menu has changed and got a little smaller.

Desperately looking for someplace to eat having had long day on beach at Long Rock. Had to pass through Goldsithney on way to cottage and they had two pubs opposite one another. The Crown looked popular with lots of people sitting outside enjoying the warm weather. We were cutting it fine as they stop doing food at 8.30 but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we placed our orders. The menu is mainly traditional pub fare but it was cooked and presented in a most appetising way and we also had puddings. We did not know at the time that dogs were welcomed and vowed to go back but alas we ran out of days. Our experience ended a perfect day on holiday. Staff were brilliant.

Welcome to The Godolphin, a bustling, beachfront restaurant with rooms at the heart of Mountâs Bay. Weâre directly opposite St Michael's Mount, the iconic island fortress crowned by a medieval castle and surrounded by a sea that's teeming with wildlife â
All we wanted was a light lunch nothing fancy or expensive just a sandwich and a drink!! Unfortunately the menu has changed and although we sat outside with a stunning view of St Michaelâs Mount with a refreshing drink we couldnât have our sandwich!! I understand the need to change the menu but not everyone wants to spend a fortune and have a large meal at lunchtime!! We live in Cornwall and would probably think twice about eating here again unless we can have just a sandwich like you used to able to do!!!

We recently visited with friends and it was simply superb. All of our meal choices were great - crab linguine absolutely scrummy, complimented by a great selection of local beers. We were made to feel welcome instantly ! Highly recommend.

The Fire Engine has gone through a tenancy change from February 2017. We will be serving traditional homemade pub food at very reasonable prices. We now have two bars- one upstairs for mainly eating, quizzes and for when we have live music. We also have t
We were staying in Marazion in September and visited twice, once for an afternoon drink in their wonderful beer garden which overlooks St Michael's Mount, and once for an evening meal with friends. The food was basic, but very tasty and good value for money. You do need to book as they are very popular and do not serve food every night of the week. The atmosphere in the pub was great. There is a small car park but it gets filled up quickly. Alternatively you can park in the community hall car park (across the road, up the hill on the right - 5 minute walk). The only small criticism I would have is that if you want to sit in the beer garden when it gets dark, the lights don't seem to work too well and it can be a bit hairy walking down the steps in to the garden. Other than that, great pub!
