This lively and well-patronised cafe in the pedestrian part of town just along from the tourist office makes a great venue for a night out. There is live music on Thursday and Friday nights and there is a poster inviting up and coming musicians/bands who would like a space to come along and play. We were pleasantly surprised to find such an electric and ecclectic place on a cold December day in the small town of Lons. Casual and with a good mix of people from various parts of the world and of all ages the atmosphere was one of conviviality. Whether there to have a drink or a meal, listen to music, play a game of chess or Scrabble you are made to feel welcome by the young hosts, Caroline and Lionel (whose tartines are delicious). We were lucky enough to visit on the night of a vernissage for a local artist, Ludivine Moogli and the place was packed to bursting.

I often eat in this pretty place with a welcoming waiter.Every working day there is a daily menu with good quality price for traditional french cuisine.(13⬠including starter, main course and dessert)If you prefer "A la Carte" it is of course more expensive.If you stop in Lons-le-Saunier do not hesitate to taste a French affordable meal in Le Rouget de Lisle.
