Frequent visitors to Llangollen, we often watch live football in Benson's. Families are welcome, and there is a pleasant atmosphere. The bar features a range of quirky antique and collectable items dotted around, which give it real character beyond the normal sports' bar. Reasonably-priced food is served throughout the day.A range of rooms is also available. However, special thanks for our visit on Saturday 26th May 2018 to watch the Champions' League final. Although the pub became chock-a-block, the staff worked very hard to keep us all fed and watered. We had a beautiful spot, in the rear restaurant area, where we watched the match on a huge TV, with the beautiful River Dee flowing underneath. It was a safe environment for families, although the result was not what we hoped for! Well done to management and staff for a fantastic job all around!

Here for lunch on a wet Saturday in March. Quite a few people in but food came reasonably quickly and my "Cock and Bull" burger, (chicken, beef, bacon and cheese), came precisely as I'd ordered it, without salad or sauce or the other things, and they gave me extra chips. It's a large meal and I just about finished it. Fine dining it isn't but it was very tasty and all well cooked. At less than £10 i felt it was very good value. Drinks were also good value. Can recommend it.

Thanks to everyone at the Hand Hotel for making our recent stay so enjoyable. An older hotel with a big heart, welcoming and friendly. The Hand played host to a big fishing event the Hanak Fishing Festival this last weekend. It was all hands to the pump as the hotel was full. Great service throughout top marks for that. The rooms are not palatial and need a touch here and there but the accommodation is comfortable. The hotel sits next to the River Dee and is centrally located making an ideal venue for a short visit to this lovely town. We intend taking part in the competition next year hopefully the Hand will gave room for us, fingers crossed.

Booked a table here recently for a family sunday lunch. Enjoyed a pleasant lunch at a reasonable price. Roast potatoes where a bit underdone and one of our party was served a small portion instead of a full size one, but was soon rectified by the staff. Would dine here again though.

We went at a quiet time. Only a couple of people in there.Nice friendly people behind the bar, good atmosphere all round. Not being that hungry I went for Soup of the day and a hot pork sandwich. The soup bowl was the size of an olympic pool and the sandwich an inch thick!Handy hint. If you're having the soup of the day, ask what it is first.I didn't ask and it turned out to be cauliflower and stilton. Strange but interesting. My first, (and last) experience of such a combination.

The sun Trevor is a local establishment in the Derbyshire area of Llangollen that is the most welcoming and homely environment you can find. All people and dogs are welcome and the food is superb. The staff are always smiling and going above and beyond, we dine here on a regular basis and always return. Thank you for to the sun Trevor for a beautiful meal and experience always!

Busy as usual, but always a good bet for a well prepared and presented lunch with great views of the river in full spate.Very good service and sensible prices. Always worth a stop either for a bite to eat or a drink.

Seasonal British restaurant and bar championing local Welsh produce with international flavours, carefully selected wine list, craft ales, cocktail and gin bar.
I can see why this restaurant is no 1 in Llangollen. The Sunday roast beef we had was plentiful very tasty and cooked to perfection as it was very rare. Plenty of vegetables and roast potatoes as well as a huge Yorkshire pudding. Fantastic service and great ambience. Not often I am full after one course! Will go back to eat during the week as the normal menu looks fantastic.
