I had a steak and my husband chicken. My steak was beautifully cooked, veggies - okay. My husband enjoyed his chicken with a couple of added prawns - now that was a surprise. The food was well priced, drinks cheap. Would recommend this place, although hesitated at the food in Baine Maree. Go for the fresh ly cooked food, it was great!

I was told that the Gollan Hotel had changed hands. It is a historic hotel in Lismore - even the Queen stayed there once! The atmosphere is very much like any country town's local pub. Colourful characters all having a good time. We got there quite early in the evening, had a few beers and ordered some food. The service was a bit slow (they acknowledged that and apologised) but it was worth the wait! The surf and turf special of the day was really good!I look forward to trying the other meals on the menu.

Walking around Lismore we came across the Rous Hotel in the afternoon. We sat down to read the paper and the manager came up and asked if we would like a glass of water. Explained that we would be back for dinner. Dinner menu included 'Battered Barramundi' or '250g Steak' for around $13.00 each which we ordered later that night. Nice food and extra good value.

Been here before on the odd occasion, routinely good.Ordered the NY Sirloin, came with broccoli, carrot, green beans and chips.Steak good although a tad over cooked from ordered.Good ambience and nice & warm from the outdoor heating. Was able to book the meal back to my motel room, that was a bonus.

The Northern Rivers favourite fried chicken and smokehouse BBQ, plus a good selection of vegetarian goodness too. Gluten free and dairy free. Local produce. Great bar. Generally just some damn good times.
Chicken was lukewarm and certainly not as described in other reviews. Lacked flavour and was a bit dry. Maybe I just got a dud night but don't think I'll bother again. The cider was good and cold though. Long hair in the kitchen isn't really a good look either.Sorry you were not keen on it. What was the issue with the long hair? Just not the right style for you?I look forward to any more info you might be able to give us.Cheers,Gray
