We were so grateful to have been accommodated without a booking for our family celebration. We were shown to a lovely table. Disappointingly for one of our party, they were unable to have their choice of food or drink (apparently there had been a fire in the kitchen so fish and chips were off the menu). Then after waiting for our starters for 45 mins, our mains turned up. We asked the waiter but they didnât know what had happened, so we agreed to keep our mains as we were so hungry. When we went to pay the bill our starters were still on there. The food was fine.

Order the Côte De Boeuf! It's primitive beef at its best - a large portion of beef for two people, served on a platter with a choice of sauce dips, accompanied by fries and salad. Simple but delicious. We have visited this rather chaotic place each time we have been to St Martin de Re, but have found it always to be great. This time we tried the starters as well (Smoked Mackeral salad for me and Melon and ham for my wife) and found them to be really tasty. The menu is rather limited but the food is simple and real. Don't miss it. They don't take bookings, so just turn up and wait for a table.

Managed to get a seat on a busy Tuesday night.Service was more than acceptable considering the number of diners!Crepes were excellent and something totally different and unexpected from what we English would expect as a main evening meal!(and catered for vegetarians). Cost was reasonable considering location.Staff were very helpful (particularly the young male waiter)and assisted with our basic French! The restaurant is by the harbour and a nice to watch the sun go down.Great visit..Merci!!

There are only two restaurants in Loix and fortunately both are great, We have eaten at La Prequ'ile at least a dozen times and it is always good. It is very family friendly and is situated in the market square in Loix. Service and atmosphere is really nice here. Good value too.

Great place for croissants and pain aux raisins (we dare say best on the island). Very friendly owners, great service and perfect value for money. Will definitely come back.

It is true that we came late and they still served us which is on itself quite a thing in France. The food was normal although very well presented and the service although nice very slow.We ordered and it took a long time for the waiter to tell us that one of the dishes was not available, we then requested the menu card again, which took long and by the time we reordered the food they told us that this dish could not be served because the kitchen was closed... It was their fault but still that did not matter. We did not want to pursue the matter as we were on holidays but although the place is great and the food was good, the overall experience was not the one expected.A pity
