Visited village grill and bar for some appies after a busy day and having a hard time finding somewhere else. We had the started Caesar salad, hot wings and battered shrimp. Everything seemed expensive for what it was but I think that just comes with their being so little to choose from. Our server was very nice, I almost got the vibe she was terrified though because when she forgot our ranch for our wings she literally ran to get it and apologized many times. The food was fine nothing special but not bad either.
On a sunny day with a huge drinking apres crowd, it has potential. A large wooden deck with lots of seating and a BBQ, a wooden hut with a few tables, some heating and a bar. This was a cold day, very few were on the deck but most wanted a warm place for a beer / food. On a cold day better to close the door & generate a warm atmosphere inside. It's a self serve bar, order food too and take the ticket to the BBQ to collect the food.Food was average, best of our bunch was pulled pork in a bun.Won't rush back

Went for dinner and the service was quite bad. The staff were friendly but the service was incredibly slow. Took 30 minutes just to get our drinks delivered. The food was actually ok - burgers all were tasty but the butter chicken was particularly dry.Wanted dessert but waited 30minutes for waiter to come and take our order so we didnât order Dessert.Very disappointing experience.Hey Chauntalg, I would like to apologize on behalf of Explorers for your unsatisfying experience in the lounge. These are not our service standards. I appreciate you taking the time to leave the review we will take initiative on making sure this does not happen to anyone else in the future. This was the only place open. The upstairs pizza bar was always busy but we ate downstairs in the bar on two occasions. Reasonable atmosphere, staff excellent and food cheap and cheerful

Our lodging staff recommended Outpost Pub, as food comes from the same kitchen as the fine dining restaurant, but less expensive. Hungarian goulash with spatzle and red cabbage was delicious. Nachos were huge; Server suggested the small order, which was still big. Trout pasta dish was delicious. Small English/German pub atmosphere with fireplace.

If you're looking for hearty, gourmet comfort foods, you've found it! It's artisan and locally grown. Inspired by the glory days of Canadian mountaineering, Alpine Social is the place to meet, eat and celebrate.
Bland, slow service. Sat outside and was chilly - it was v difficult to get a reluctant restaurant to move the heater over (2 feet). If not staying in Lake Louise (so captive) would definitely not have eaten there. Positive was the chipmunk on the ground.Dear mf62,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback on TripAdvisor. We are disappointed to hear that the service was slow and the weather was too cold outside. Please know our management team is always ready to listen and amend issues during the time of dining. We never want a guest to leave disappointed and unsatisfied when we have the ability to rise above challenges! Thank you for bringing this forward; we do hope to welcome you back to Alpine Social in the future for a exemplary dining experience!

in the Canadian Alpine Center-- it's in the youth hostel
We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here during a one-night stay in Lake Louise and enjoyed all the meals we had. The staff were friendly but the restaurant can get busy due it's decent prices. On our second visit, for dinner, despite our order being taken long before other diners who arrived after us, we had to wait ages for our food and others, who had arrived and ordered way after us were being served there food way before us. I complained and our food came fairly quickly after that, I think our order had been forgotten. The staff were very apologetic and the Japanese waiter even made a little origami frog to say sorry, which was nice. The manager also deducted our drinks from the bill so you cannot ask for better than that. This is a good place to eat while in Lake Louise, with it's very limited options.

Since we were unable to secure reservations at a reasonable hour for the prime restaurants at the Fairmont we settled for dinner in the lounge. We had a nice table with a partial view of the lake. As nice as the view was, it could not make up for the dinners we ordered. My husband had the modules frites which he said was average and I had the pappardelle with chicken and vegetables which was terrible. It was as though the pasta had been cooked in unsalted water and the whole dish was very bland which no amount of salt after=the-fact could make up for.Dear Mmarymomm,Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent experience at Lakeview Lounge in Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Please accept our sincerest apologies your experience with us was disappointing. We will be sure to relay your comments to our Director of Food & Beverage for his internal follow up.
