Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Kigali. Inhabited since the 11th-century, what is now Kigali has been the home of Twas, Tutsis and Hutus. The city sits on a series of verdant ridges and lush valleys, and has a Muslim Quarter and a bustling market. Rwanda's capital is the site of battles that left over a million, mostly Tutsi and moderate Hutus, dead. Kigali Memorial Centre is a permanent memorial to 1994's Genocide, built on a mass grave where 250,000 are buried. Kigali City Tour Bus offers an excellent introduction to this now safe, friendly city.

This place impressed me with diversity of its service. They have multiple sitting arrangements: bar, longue, terrace and garden for family and kids. It has a magnificent view of Kigali city especially in night. Prices are comparatively cheaper and location is plus point with spacious parking.

I love the Casa Keza brunch--a coffee, smoothie and plate for 6,000 RWF (current price). It's a relaxing space, really nice manager and staff, and delicious food. The coffee is really good, and after a number of visits, the food always has consistent quality. A great place for a relaxing weekend morning.

Cocktail Bar & Bistro at 1000 Hills Distillery. Home to over 50 craft cocktails, Kigali's finest steaks, tacos and more!
I don't have high standards when it comes to cocktails, and I'd like to think I'm open-minded, but the drinks here were just terrible. Between the four of us who went, we tried every single cocktail available. The only one that was decent was the mojito, and that was (most likely) because of the mint. The others were just not good; we all agreed. As for the view, sure, it's nice. But so are the views at a lot of other establishments in Kigali. In a country nicknamed the Land of 1,000 Hills, it's not hard to perch atop one and have a nice view. The service was fine, but as with the view, the service in a lot of restos in Kigali is fine. The food wasn't necessarily anything to write home about, but I'd probably be rating 1,000 Hills higher if we had only had the food and not tried any of the drinks. It being a distillery, however, I feel like the liquor aspect shouldn't be overlooked. All in all, none of us were impressed. That said, we did have a blast laughing at how terrible the cocktails were. I know that they're environmentally friendly, they use locally sourced ingredients, and they're trying to help out the community, all of which are great things. However, being "green" and altruistic doesn't automatically yield great products.Dear Brittany,You stated that our Cocktails were terrible and yet you claim that your group of 4 tried "every single oneâ of our cocktails⦠We have over 50 Cocktails on our menu and typically when someone does not like something they donât go on to order 11 more cocktails per person⦠All I can say is thank you for your business! We discovered this place just down the street from our guest house (The Nest - also highly recommended) in an otherwise quiet and safe residential neighborhood. They have many BBQ meat choices and wood fired pizza which was very good (thin crust). The beef on the brochette I ordered was very tough and stringy - but maybe that is normal? All the usual beer (Skol, Tuska, Heineken) choices for Rwanda and soda at fair prices. The place gets busy and has music on weekend late nights. There is both outdoor and semi-indoor seating with a large TV usually showing soccer.Would return again. Note there is no WiFi - a negative for some people (-1 star). There is a parking lot with security.

Hotel Chez Lando offers two dining style choices: the Chez Lando barbecue grill or La Fringale French restaurant. African specialty dishes are available with a 1 day advance notice.La Fringale RestaurantLa Fringale is an alternative to the spiced up food
Although hard to base a restaurant on one meal, I was disappointed by my order of Chicken and Chips. Despite the large portion size, there was almost no meat on the scrawny bony piece of chicken (perhaps the beef brochettes would have been better but I wanted a break from beef). I would rather have a smaller portion of higher quality food than this large portion of bland. And it also took a long time to arrive. Although disappointed by the food, on the positive side, the place has a popular local vibe and is a good option if you are staying in Remera area. I would perhaps recommend it more for a place to chat and relax over some beers than a place for a good meal.

The vegetarian matoke stew was excellent. I ate here twice just so I could have the matoke stew again. Certainly a hip restaurant with westerners in Kigali.
