Costuma ser raro um restaurante de hotel agradar, mas esse é o caso do Tamarindo no hotel Nord Luxxor. Preparo esmerado das comidas. Atendimento superlativo. Destaques: filé de peixe com frutas assadas (banana, abacaxi e manga)

Went there late December (just about a week after they opened) and was impressed with the area available both at the front, where there is a little playground, and at the back, where the parking lot is. Ambiance is very casual, almost like a bar environment and with a plus of having the sea just accross the street. Food is really expensive considering portion sizes and quality (they really need to re-visit their prices...), beverages and service are good.In sum, they are still far from being good but considering they had just opened I would consider giving them another shot.

Large restaurant, very noisy, mostly hunted by the young generation, located on the Cabo Branco see promenade. I had pernil de cordeiro (lamb leg) which was dry and overcooked, accompanied by a couscous which was a solid slab (!), uneatable boiled macaxeira (yuca), rice and some more decent vegetables. With a bottle of beer, the bill went to R$60. Decent price if compared to quantity, exorbitant if compared to quality. Service was ok.

Came to Brazil for the World Cup and stayed in Joao Pessoa and we visited this restaurant many times over the week. We found the food to be decent (although unfortunate that all the shrimp was frozen), the service good and the location excellent. Clean restaurant with open breezes from the ocean, cold drinks on large screen TVs for the World Cup - can't ask for more - even accommodated a bunch of Canadian gringos with an English version menu!

PROS: pizza and lasagna are very tasty, service. CONS: picanha and chicken, noisy. You can sit in the outside (hot) or in the dinning hall inside (hotter). Probably you will have more beers than panned to quench your thirst.

The caipirinhas here are perfect - ice cold and beautiful. Our whole, freshly-grilled sea bass was delicious, and the service was excellent. Our menus were in English, and there were several German items available, but this is definitely a typical João Pessoa beach kiosk-style place to relax and enjoy the city. We visited early on a Tuesday evening when it was not crowded. The only drawback was that the live music had not yet started. I'll be here in João Pessoa for another two months, and I plan to go back again - but later next time to check out the music.
