Our family decided Applebeeâs would be good for the group after church. Once we got seated we realized we were having to speak loudly because the music was so loud. As we looked around, nobody in the restaurant was under 60 years old. The people next to us were talking about how loud the music was as well and that rap music wasnât appropriate for a Sunday lunch crowd.I spoke with our server and mentioned this and I was told the corporate office decides what music gets played. I asked if members of the corporate office was dining today. The server said, they never come here are you kidding? So my rep,t was can you p,ease turn the volume down and select a more appropriate channel for this crowd.Anyway, you see where this is going. We got our food to go since we were going nowhere and couldnât tolerate the loud annoying music anymore.I suppose we will take our family somewhere else for dinner where the patrons opinions matter. Canât figure out why Applebeeâs is struggling as a business and being forced to close many of their stores.Donât recommend going to this restaurant!

Fun place located at Bridgewater Marina. Food is ok but go here for lunch and some cocktails or to check out their nightly live entertainment during the summer season. Not many options for nightlife in this area of Va - but this place has some. Events end early - recent last call given at 9:45pm on a Wed night - so keep this in mind!

We make beer in Bedford, Virginia. A sleepy town with secret treasures. You just discovered one of them.
Another couple an we stopped here for a beer. We did the flight so we could try all of the beers. The Gold, the stout, and the IPA were our favorites. The brisket was wonderful. Also ordered the pretzel with an upgrade of beer cheese. Only suggestion is to make the pretzel and beer cheese an item together.

Hubby and l had not been to Jakeâs Iâm a few years so we decided to enjoy a late lunch where we could see the lake. There were a few patrons seated outside but we wanted to sit inside. Comfy ambiance with plenty of staff sitting around. We were seated and after several minutes were waited on. The wait staff were sitting in a booth talking pretty close to us and definitely saw us come in.At first glance of the menu I was surprised at the prices. We decided to order a pizza. It was the most reasonably priced. After a very long wait, especially for a pizza, it came. It was decent and there was a generous portion of toppings. Not sure if we will go back though. Too pricy for the service and the food.Overall, it was a very average experience with less than attentive wait staff.

Moosie's is located at the Bridgewater Plaza adjacent to the bridge area on route 122 at Smith Mountain Lake. The menu includes salads, burgers, and a great variety of sandwiches. The sandwiches are large, filling, and very good. A full bar is available. The Plaza is worth exploring with everything from marine supplies to ice cream as well as several shops and an information center.

This quaint little pub has a unique environment. I can see why the locals love it. However, my visit was during a family vacation to the lake. It was very disappointing that an Irish pub doesn't have corned beef and cabbage or a Reuben sandwich. The salads were from a bag. My green beans were a mixture of half fresh and half canned. Their cost cutting techniques definitely didn't play in their favor. However, the beer was cold, the people were friendly, and the music was great (radio station in the background played a great selection of classic rock).

I have only visited a couple of times by boat. I eat lunch and have a couple of drinks. This is a nice spot to take a break while on the lake. Food is average for a place hanging out over the lake. Drinks are cold on most days. Service is good. Local hang out.

We've been here a few times over the past few years, but the food really impressed us on this most recent visit. We started with wings that were pretty good, but were especially pleased with the Reuben (made on excellent rye, grilled perfectly), not overstuffed with corned beef, and smeared with a delicious version of Russian dressing. The accompanying fries were also far better than average. Very satisfying lunch, very reasonable prices, in a fun spot.

Wallerâs is a family-friendly restaurant located in Crystal Shores Marina Resort on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. We offer the most unique dining experience the lake has to offer. Relax beside the water, listen to live music, and enjoy the cu
Waller's was a good stop on Sunday evening after a day on Smith Mountain Lake. It is very casual so come as you are. If very hot opt for inside rather than one of the many outdoor tables (most are shaded with umbrellas). Special was 50 cent peel-and-eat shrimp which were good though slightly overcooked. The beer was cold and there was a huge selection. I had pork BBQ with chocolate added, unique and not bad for a change of pace. The children were pleased with their choices and everyone cleaned their plates. Other favorite menu items were the grilled chicken salad and the Santa Fe wrap. Prices were reasonable for a waterfront eatery. The one exceptional factor was the excellent service by attentive, efficient Miranda. She handled young and old expertly. The entire staff seemed friendly and the management solicited our opinion. It was a busy place at a busy time but we were able to relax and enjoy.I'm glad your family enjoyed a good meal on the water with us! I know it can be a challenge for kids to clean their plates, so I'll take that as a compliment. Our team works hard to make every guest feel welcome and well taken care of, so it's great to hear Miranda did just that. Hope to see you again soon! Best,Waller, Owner
