Popped in for a coffee, which was excellant quality and took it outside to it and watch the light aircraft comme and go.Pleasant and unusual way to spend an hour watching the skydivers and aircraft.Only downside was nearly all the tables held dirty glasses and plates which appeared to attract every wasp for miles around!

Boveys Down Farm is a quiet, rural retreat located in the tranquil surroundings of the Devonian Countryside. Open for cream teas, morning coffee & cake, afternoon tea, lunches and evening meals.
My friends had their wedding here yesterday and what a fantastic spot this is. High up on the hilltop the views are spectacular. Licensed for civil ceremonies Boveys Down Farm has a beautiful yurt with proper beds for the wedding couple as well as hook up power for caravans and campers. Fantastic.

Came last night and we both chose the Homemade Steak and Guiness pie, mine with potatoes and veg and the Hub had chips and peas. Pastry was light, flaky and moist, contents was rich and substantial. Gravy was thick and very tasty.Portions were quite large and very filling. No dessert as we were too full. A basic pub grub menu and would highly recommend.

Booked so nearby relatives could join us for dinner. Beds very comfortable and bathroom was I think recently refurbished, great shower, sink a little small and would benefit from a towel ring at the side for hand towel. Toiletries provided along with cleansing pads etc which was a nice extra. Tea & coffee making facilities. Dinner which was good and reasonably priced with a good selection and a specials board. Breakfast was excellent with delicious sausages and thick cut bacon, couldn't fault it. Plenty of healthy alternatives to the traditional English breakfast. Please note if you book on-line you can receive £10 off your meal, I just missed the button to press so missed out! I'm unsure about disabled access to the rooms but certainly the restaurant would be fine.

Stopped for a light bite on our way home from visiting family in Berkshire. Brilliant. We'd not been for a while, and were impressed with the recent changes the owners have made. Delightful terrace to the rear (in addition to the splendid rural orchard), and a new menu, ideal for people on the move, or those wanting a full meal. Our light lunch was delicious, so we'll return soon..

We were looking forward to a meal here after a recommendation and looking it up on Tripadvisor. But sadly we were extremely disappointed. The food (both had 3 courses) all tasted very average and fairly bland. The cost was very expensive for what it was. The atmosphere and decoration in the pub could have been much better too. Such a shame as like to support local pubs.

We popped down for a few days break and booked here for three nights on the trot. We just love this place. Friendly service, comfortable surroundings, excellent wine list and amazing, innovative food, beautifully presented and very good value. All the food we had on the three days was stunning, the lamb and summer vegetables in red wine sauce with crispy pieces of rosemary batter was gorgeous, and the slow cooked pork belly with the spicy sausage, red wine sauce was stunning and so clever with the strips of raw sweet apple to add a crisp texture.I loved the gravad lax with the dill sauce and those amazing rye crisps, and tiny lightly pickled veg; a real tongue tingler. The smoked duck breast with beetroot and barberries and beetroot sauce with walnuts and orange was equally delicious. I am already looking forward to our next trip to Devon, and eating here again.

We are frequent visitors to The Flintlock, and always enjoyed the food and ambience with Paolo behind the bar overseeing customers enjoyment. The new owners, with Hassan behind the bar have not disappointed. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is still most enjoyable. I am so delighted that The Flintlock is still the place to go for a really great night. Thank you.
