Food was good and so was the service. Wide variety on the menu. The odd thing about this experience was that I asked for a tea to go and the waiter said no problem. However, after about 5 minutes he came back and said he was sorry but the manager said they donât allow drinks to go, including non-alcoholic. I have never run into that in my entire life. We all found it very odd. Because I travel, I love a tea or water to go so I have something in my hotel room. Not this time. Go figure!

Visiting long term from STL, and we wanted a place that was good, popular, moderately priced and accepted reservations for 12. Very popular place in Schaumburg. Cool vibe and surroundings; kids enjoyed the atmosphere. That's where the positives stop for us. Waited 25 minutes past the time our reservation was made for (they why make a reservation you ask!); service was very poor and very slow; of the 8 adult meals, 4 of them were incorrect; one they simply completely forgot about (a salmon dish) and it came a whopping 25 minutes after all other food arrived (and they didn't even offer to take it off the bill or discount it); my daughter's chicken wrap was the incorrect wrap. It wasn't what she ordered at all, but we had already waited so long, no one wanted to send anything back. But they still billed us extra for avocado that was supposed to be in the wrap that my daughter ordered, which we never even received because they gave her the wrong sandwich. And when I asked the waitress about it, she said "well, I already put it through to the credit card". I said that was unacceptable as I shouldn't pay for something that wasn't received. She was miffed but another 10 minutes later, her manager got it handled. My sister's salad was incorrect. The "Fire Shrimp" appetizer was bland. My Mac and Cheese was very bland. My niece waited 15 minutes for a side of mayo. Bottom line ... from our one time experience, this place is WAY OVER RATED on TA. We would not return.

My wife and I are generally meat-and-potatoes people. More recently, we have switched to a more fish, less meat diet. I need a regular shrimp cocktail fix. But, in our travels across the country, we have become accustomed to the many fast-food and steakhouse chains. And Chili's, which has over 1,600 locations worldwide and specializes in a Tex-Mex style cuisine that covers everything from barbecue ribs to chili to enchiladas to fajitas to burritos to tacos to quesadillas. Truth be told, we have fallen in love with the stuff. There are several Chili's locations in the Chicago area--none in the downtown area, where we live--so we go to the suburbs for our quacamole fix. Recently, we sampled the menu at Chili's at 2220 Barrington Road in Hoffman Estates. No complaints. The restaurant is clean, the service is spot-on and the food is hot, fresh and delicious. We scanned the menu and settled on Southwest chicken soup, boneless wings, Margherita flatbread salad with shrimp, Atlantic salmon with rice and steamed broccoli, a Southern smokehouse sandwich with four slices of applewood smoked bacon, melted cheddar, garlic dill pickles, onion rings, lettuce, tomato and Chili's signature sauce and Oreo topped molten cake. It's different but it's so good.

We were with a 30 person group here, pretty evenly split between kids and adults, for a team dinner during a soccer tournament. They take and handle large groups here well. Itâs a big facility and pretty noisy, with lots and lots of sports TV screens up on the walls. Thereâs an extensive menu, heavy on red sauce Italian classics as well as thin and Chicago-style deep dish pizza. The deep dish pizza is really rthick, 3 to 4 inches in depth, and very, very heavy with thick tomato sauce. The thin crust pizza is totally at the other end of the spectrum with some of the thinest crust and topping layers Iâve ever seen. Too thin from my point of view. I loved the very large, spicy meatballs I had with a big plate of spaghetti. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals. The only issue our group experienced was a somewhat slow and disjointed food and drink service. Food trickled out erratically throughout the evening and there was perhaps as much as a 20-25â gap between when the first and last people in our group got their entreeâs after a pretty long post order delay. It made for a pretty long night. On the other had, our group was a large one and it was a Saturday night, so some delay was to be expected. Given the high quality of food and enjoyable venue this is good spot for a good meal with a large group.

The September $1 hamburger or hot dog and home-made chips is certainly well worth it. The hamburger with lettuce and tomato was done just as ordered and tasted good. The chips were crisp and not greasy. The bowl of popcorn put on the table as you're seated is a nice touch and time-filler as waiting for the server. The service was good. We will return.

Went to this interesting restaurant 8-11 for an after baptism luncheon. It was cool in every sense of the word....excellent service, excellent food. We were presented with a menu with five choices...all of which looked delicious. I opted for the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and shaved brussels sprouts. My husband had the Pulled pork Sammy...a hearty sandwich (which smelled wonderful)..The lady across the table from me had the chopped salad, which she said was "fabulous". The décor is really nice...very "horsey" with lots of wood and stone, saddles and equine artwork....

Very slow, poor service. Took 40 minutes to get our drinks from the bar. Our salads came out before our drinks. Everyone seemed so disorganized. When walking past the bar area it had a moldy/musky odor. The food was decent but not worth all the chaos. They would not honor my Landry card because âwe are changing systems â WHAT? Will not be returning.

We needed to use our gift card from over a year ago. We did not have high expectations from previous visits. We were suprised everything was served hot and we enjoyed our meal. Margarita was average. The wings were served crispy, hot and tender. Bahamian seafood chowder had vegetables and seafood in every bite. Side salad crisp with nice house dressing. Lobster Mac & Cheese was very good. Never had deep fried lobster before. The Taste of Jamaica was very good as well. Beef empanada- good amount of filling inside flakey crust. Jerk chicken and pork delicious. Plantains tasty. Rice and beans nice flavor. Did not like the Collard greens.

We spent one night in Hoffman estates just outside of Chicago, so with this place just across the street we decided to try it out. The service was awesome, the place was cute and the food was decent. First we started with the mozzarella triangles, which were fried to perfection. The marinara sauce with it could use some more flavor, but the triangles were so good the sauce wasn't even necessary. We then got our burgers. First both burgers were cooked perfectly & were juicy and flavorful. The toppings on the mac n cheese burger was not good at all, it was just boxed with a slice of cheese over it. My daughter decided to just take it off, it was better that way. Mine was the BBQ burger which didn't have hardly any BBQ on it at all, so that was disappointing, but what was on it was tasty. The fries and tater tots we really good and we got full, so I would go here again, but try something else.

Food was average but over priced. During lunch some kind of insect bit me up and left welts that are still very itchy even several days later. I have no idea what it was and I don't want to assume the worst case scenario. Won't be returning there.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We will look into the issue. Please email us directly at kevin@thelucky monk.com should anything further come to light. Thank you. The Lucky Monk Management Team
