Young hip atmosphere! If I didn't have my children I would have definitely had a martini at the bar, great music and vibe. Grilled octopus salad was the best I ever had. I had lobster with black fettuccini, and I was delicious, no imitation lobster meat. I would definitely go back.

The Mermaid Inn is a spot-on rendition of a casual New England fish shack, complete with style, warm hospitality and classic seafood fare.
Came for dinner early evening on a Monday as they have Oyster Happy Hour all day. (guess we coulda picked any day). Plan was to order a dozen oysters and move to entrees. Nope - oysters were so good, we backed the first dozen with another. Then I had lovely red snapper. Would recommend for sure. Partner had Fish and Chips - the fish looked real good. I should have tasted hers. But the chips were heavily salted thin crispy like potato straw things. Not how I would prefer my dish to come out. Nice little wine list from which we picked an Albarino that worked well. I was not crazy about the hiightop table and stool - I am a pretty big guy and kept angling away from the wall and winding up with one foot on the floor. Maybe next time I ask for a booth - because there should certainly be a next time.

This is a cool spot with fantastic views and tasty drinks. I found the service to be on point. The hostess and waitress were friendly and got us a table for four quickly. No long wait. Try an old fashioned. Pretty good.

The Ear Inn is definitely worth a visit if you want good quality food, good value for money, and an interesting history. This bar did not appear in our guide book, we only found out about it through a passing mention in a newspaper article. Subsequently we learnt from local New Yorkers that it's a place that they regularly go to, so if you want to avoid the tourist traps go here! That's not to say it's not busy.Tip - don't be put off by loud music, if you move to the back it's much more cosy and quieter.

Iâm not sure how we picked the Elysian Cafe for lunch, but we did. On Washington St in Hoboken which is loaded with places to eat, and now the street is in major repair. Parking is available just a block away.It has to be one of the oldest bar / restaurant in Hoboken. The walls, ceilings and bar look original. The dinning tables look original to. But the feel is very laid back with an efficient wait staff. The lunch menu is absolutely my kind of food. I wanted to order everything! When another customer was brought their order I wanted that to.Eat here !

Let me explain. Not too many (positive) reviews have a title that includes the word 'vomit'. But this is no ordinary establishment--- it is a character pub with over two dozen craft beers on tap. 'Unicorn Vomit' was the most alcoholic of these options, an imperial IPA coming in near 12%-- and yet deceptive in that it was so quaffable. I had invited an old friend, and we were mostly there for conversation; we had been pacing ourselves over several hours, and we sampled the cheese and meat board, which complemented the beer well--particularly the aged gouda. But when we ordered small glasses of the Unicorn Vomit, we were overjoyed with the smooth, slightly tropical-tasting drink: a tremendous way to end the evening. The clientele was convivial, and the 'tenders were quick and helpful. A very happy bar!

As residents of The Roxy hotel we ate both dinner & breakfast at the Roxy Lounge. Dinner was lovely - i ate hummus & vegetable crudités & had several of the Roxy cocktail. Breakfast - bagels & cream cheese were divine!! The atmosphere in the Lounge is wonderful - there is always music - either live pianist, jazz group or a singer.Such a great place. Highly recommended.
