Wanted a quiet meal on our last night in Heidelberg. Struck lucky here. Plenty of choices on the main menu and also a specials menu. Our two meals were very good. The service was promt and efficient. The restaurant was fairly quiet and we did not have to wait long for either of our courses.I can recommend the steak and the beer.

Destille is a super little pub in an area of Heidelberg that is full of good pubs and bars.Went here after having a coffee in Restaurant Pop and as we were here on a pub crawl we decided to go in here and have a glass of beer.This must have the most unusual interior's of any pub in Heidelberg.There is to me a tree right in the middle of the bar and it is very rustic in here with excellent seating options especially around the bar.There are unusual paintings adorning the walls and it has a real heavy metal feel in here.It is by no means a bad pub quite the opposite i loved this pub we try'd to get in here on our first night in Heidelberg but this pub was to full.We went early afternoon on this occasion and it was still busy with mostly locals drinking beers and playing a local dice game.When here we opted to have a glass of D.A.B pils a beer from Dortmund poured to perfection and served at a very reasonable price.This was one of the many highlights we had when visiting Heidelberg as these are the pubs we like to visit and if ever you get a chance to visit Heidelberg and you come across this pub give it a look you won't be disappointed.Located on Untere StraÃe.Opening hours are. Monday-Sunday-Don't know.

The outdoors seating is the key feature -- and while the menu is about average, the service is exemplary and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and festive. This place has potential, but sadly the servers seem stressed / overwhelmed, and the food orders were inaccurate. There is an English menu, but that led to some of the inaccuracies as there were mistakes in the translations.The pizza, once it arrived with the proper toppings, was OK, and the chicken fingers and cheese sticks were tasty. A soft drink took over 10 minutes to arrive.The chaos of the place is so distracting that it is difficult to enjoy your meal. Be prepared to wait ... A LOT ... for EVERYTHING.

It would take too long to describe the terrible service we were greeted with on arrival, especially from the guy tending bar. They refused to do anything to even quickly wipe the chairs and tables that had been out in the rain that afternoon, and ended up closing the terrace despite it having turned into a beautiful evening. "No!" was the answer to everything. Nothing done politely at all. We were ready to leave, but it was a nice evening and we had walked long to find the place, so we stayed.When we actually ate, though, the food was very good, especially the "catch of the day" fish dish. Service did continue to be spotty at best, though the waitress was at least not as surly as her colleagues inside.

While visiting the city on a Saturday we ducked in here as the rain fell. Took a seat at the bar and spent the better part of two hours drinking beer. The bartender was great. Atmosphere is perfect and the food looked great. We will be back to eat next time

Good traditional food, reasonably fast service, excellent beer in traditional clay steins, the outside beer garden was a great atmosphere, but the inside hall had a sort of beyond cool shabby chic that is difficult to describe unless you just stand in the room and look up at the ceiling. Proper old-school. Did I mention very tasty house-brewed beer?

We ate here twice - dinner and lunch. For dinner we had mixed of sausages and apple pie for dessert and it was great. The service was great too. For lunch we had pork knuckles with salad and cheese spaetzel. Love the cheese spaetzel but the pork knuckle was dry and hard as rock. Itâs almost like they reheat something thatâs overnight. The lunch service was bad as well. I guess it boils down to whether you have a good server for the day who can recommend you the good food to order. The outdoor seating was great. They have English menu and price was reasonable.
