Business dinner for 5 people and we were greeted by a very enthusiastic and charming waitron but not great from there on. Drinks orders were slow and delivery staggered even although it was a simple order of 1 beer, 2 malawi shandy's and 2 fruit juices. The waiter was keen for us to try different dishes and did a good job making suggestions and indicating any choice would be good. Eventually we went with red meat dishes and probably should have chosen chicken or Italian as suggested. We ordered 4 steaks, all with different sauces and to be prepared differently. The 5th choice was a ribs and calamari combination. My pepper steak was a 300 gr sirloin with pepper sauce. Steak was tough and pepper sauce had no flavour. I suspect it was straight out of a bottle. One colleague ordered medium rare and it was overcooked. The blue cheese and biltong sauce was runny and spiced up by hard avocado. Others also said their steaks were tough. Despite a comprehensive menu the dessert choice ended up as either fruit salad and ice cream or ice cream and chocolate sauce. Again it seemed like it was squeezed out of a tube. The venue seemed more like a middle eastern hookah bar with the majority of patrons drinking and sitting around smoking hubbly pipes.I didn't pay for dinner but it was about USD 130.00 before tip and even in expensive Zimbabwe cannot be considered good value for money.
Innovation and exclusivity are the hallmarks of The Venue Avondale, a stylish conference and events establishment close to the heart of the city of Harare
Carly and HD are highly talented chefs who give their fibers a master chef experience right here in Zimbabwe. I kept thinking ' this culinary experience ' is world class and i have not yet experienced anything of the same quality in Zinbabwe. The venue is a must . It is a pity they are not open as a restaurant on daily basis.

News Cafe is a Premium Cocktail Bar which also offers a cafe style menu which is suitable for all times of the day.
Stopped for lunch while browsing the village shops. Comptently prepared burger with peppadews, bacon, a local cheese, and a sauce with a little kick. Typical selection of lagers and pilseners so I had some South African dry cider which was good with the spiciness of the burger. Fries were non-dedcript.Ate at the bar, atmosphere modern and inviting. Friendly staff.

A slight altercation regarding the call of last rounds almost turned really bad but I must applaud the Manager, name forgotten, for handling the matter with a great deal of professionalism.Keep up the good work. Will come again upon my next visit to Zim and I will certainly recommend.

We have visited a couple of times, this pub has a nice outdoor seating area, with a play ground for children. The food is good, especially the burgers and pizza. I found the waiters to be friendly, although we were there for lunch, and it wasnât that busy. In the evenings it is fairly hectic. I would be happy to return for another meal.

Was feeling hungry for some steak and decided to try Garfunkels. They have a great meat selection. Servings are a generous size. The staff are pleasant. Great spot to go if very hungry! Yum.

Tin Roof must be one of the most popular pubs in Harare. Not particularly easy to find as it is round the back of a small shopping centre off Enterprise Road but it is a large, basic but fun spot to meet friends and down a few buckets of beer. The food is pub food but very good and reasonably priced. A good spot for a casual meal.

My friend had a pizza which was wafer-thin and tasteless. I had a sandwich which consisted of a beefsteak inside a sandwich and again lacked any taste. The service was Ok but the quality of the food was below par.

I ordered the sadza rezviyo it was gritty i dont think the zviyo was prepared well. it may not have been sorted well before grinding i couldn't even eat it. the fish dish i ordered was cooked well. the atmosphere is good and so is the service. they should consider adding things like mahewu to the menu since its African restaurant.
