We went to Guisborough as some of the reviews were good. We tried The Anchor . No meals on a Sunday, so we tried The Cookfellars, No Sunday meals. By this time we were feeling really hungry and time was getting on. We came across The Fox inn. Ordered one medium and one small carvery, had to change the small one , and paid extra as it was on a side plate ( Tiny). I should have stuck to it. The meal wasn't good , I chose the beef and it had a strange taste . I ate the Yorkshire pub and a couple of dried up roast potatoes. Staff were haggard as it was understaffed. No , not for Us.
The bar is a bit dreary in its decor but lively with good music. The cocktails and other drinks are good but the big issue I have is that this bar charges an extortionate 50p for a glass of soda water from the pump. Most bars in the area provide soda water free, this is a ridiculous charge to make, particularly as we're encouraged to drink responsibly.

Went in for lunch and such alot of lovely choices on the menu and at decent prices, parmo, filled yourkshire pudding, burgers, curry, fish and chips, it was hard to know what to choose. I had parmo just wished I'd chosen large tho as it's twice the size for just £1.50 more. It was delicious, I'd describe the food as excellent, only reason I rated just 4 stars is the pub itself was a bit dreary and cold but dont be put off by that as you will miss out on some great food at great prices.

I had brunch with my wife hear a few days ago, it was an effort. We had to wait almost 10 minutes to be seated, despite the restaurant being almost empty & alerting other members of staff there was no matridee to attend to us.Eventually when the young man came we were presented with a very appetising menu, I opted for the eggs benedict, my wife the egg florentine, both dishes were very well presented and tasted delightful.Afterwards, paying the bill again was an effort, waiting around for ages for someone to either come over and take the payment at the table or be present at the bar so I can at least get up and pay, a tip for the establishment, the presence of staff goes a long way. The food was good, but I could have been in and out of there in 30-40 minutes rather than over an hour.

Called in for Sunday lunch but wished we hadnât bothered. We ordered trio of meats, beef, gammon and turkey! The beef came pink but so tough we couldnât cut it up. The gammon was a thick slice of bacon!! The turkey was okay but not enough of it!The roast potatoes were frozen or looked and tasted like they were. The veg was a mushed up mess only the carrots and broccoli being ok! Yorkshire pud too big and tasteless! Gravy too thin! Sorry for such a negative review but wonât be returning unless the quality improves. Very disappointing!Thank you for your feedback and please accept my apologies for not meeting your expectations. We have a lot of fantastic comments about our Sunday Roasts, but seem to only have negative reviews appear about them. I will pass on your comments to the kitchen team to help them improve. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Take care.
