Date of Visit: Sunday, April 29th, 2018Purpose of visit: Weekly Sunday Wing & Beer night. Every Sunday for the last Year+ we have gone to various pubs, bars, restaurants for wings and beer. When our regular place hiked their prices and lowered the quality at the same time unannounced, we decided it was time to try other places. R U Serious has been in the rotation. Atmosphere: Small, local restaurant, full of what can only be 'regulars' as the waiter knew almost everyone by name. it is small, so it can easily become crowded very quickly - but so far, it has never been overly crowded. The Service: okay- in fairness, i see why some people may not like the service, so I will qualify my opinion on why I think the service is actually very good. The gentleman who is our server (each time we were there), looks like he is going to be terrible. However, he is very 'matter of fact'. He never takes notes - but he always gets the order correct. He is never rude, or arrogant. He is just like a guy serving his buddies. It has been busy there every time we have been there, and he never looks stressed - he is always the only server. The Beer - not a huge selection of drafts...but all very good (and cold). THe food: we always come for wings with a couple of appetizers. This is our tradition. The appetizers are very good - antojitos, Pickle spears, and poppers are all very good. The wings - HUGE. several decent sauce flavour options. We have never had a bad batch - always properly cooked, well sauced, served hot, and delicious. Price: very good. Typical pricing of most wing places. The difference is that this place has giant wings - where as most pubs just have itty bitty wings. I have attached a photo of our bill - this is very typical for what we order (every sunday). R U SERIOUS? YES - I am serious. this is a good place to go.

We originally ordered through skip the dishes as we were staying in a hotel and did not feel like going out...an order well over $100....after 30minutes got the call from Skip the Dishes that they were unable to reach the restaurant to confirm the order, that they weren't picking up the phone. We were reimbursed by Skip the Dishes (takes 4-7 days to go back on your credit card which sucked). I then began phoning the restaurant on my own as we were set on the dishes we had picked for dinner, after 10 calls someone answered and said they would check if we could do a pick up order. 5 minutes later another person answered no idea why I was on hold, and took my order. When my husband went to pick up the order the food was ready in the time they indicated (30minutes), and he said the restaurant was not busy at all, staff were socializing with one another. Perhaps have a dedicated person to greet guests that will actually answer the telephone. Food was delicious once it got back to all of us in the room, they could have provided cutlery considering it was a pick up/take out order.

We had a ore Christmas brunch with family and friends and ordered the 3 egg breakfast. There is a nice decor and prices are reasonable. The menu is fairly extensive. The food arrived quickly but a egg centric brunch with bacon Center around how the eggs are cooked and the bacon! Right? The bacon was very thin and left me believing it was micro wav-able type like you would get on a Food service breakfast sandwich.

The Works is a full service, licensed, casual dining restaurant chain with outdoors work themes. The restaurantâs main menu feature is burgers.
The sky is the limit for options on toppings for your burger. The menu is a bit overwhelming and busy for the person who just wants a good old fashioned burger. You can have it any way you want, however and do not need to go with a menu item. Good selection of beers and a fun atmosphere. It's pricey but not out of line for what you are getting. One thing I found annoying, and it is not isolated to this restaurant alone. As a hearing impaired person it is frustrating when the server speaks so quickly you cannot understand them. Servers need to be taught to speak clearly and slowly to patrons, especially in sports bars which are typically a cacophony of multiple TVs and patrons' voices. An enjoyable experience regardless.

Every now and then, in this broad, spinning world, you stop in for a meal at a higher end restaurant such as The Keg, and you are treated in such a kind, caring and professional manner that it blows your already elevated expectations right out of the ocean. So it was in late July when we dragged ourselves in here, far from home and heavy with the weight of a family accident and hospitalization on our minds. We were cheerfully greeted and given a sweet 2 person booth which suited us perfectly. Our server -Rachel, we believe- took absolutely impeccable care of us and seemed to sense that we were on a low. We told her our troubles and she took the time to listen empathetically. We will long remember her kindness, attention to detail and sterling service, but in all the shuffle, we arenât certain of her name. We enjoyed every single aspect of our meal, and were surprised when Dani, the Manager, came to our table to offer her support and encouragement during our difficult time. Itâs been a very long time since weâve experienced such kindness and empathy while enjoying a five star meal. We will definitely return to this Keg if our travels take us back to Guelph. Highly, highly recommended.

A proud B-Corporation serving up local & sustainable fare. We pride ourselves on waste reduction, protection of our waterways and sourcing the freshest local ingredients.
Visited for dinner with my husband and two kids ages 10 and 7. I had a the pan seared salmon. It was fine, by definitely not as nice as you would expect based on the menu description and price ($29). Basically a piece of seared salmon on a miniscule of raw veg. My husband had the mussels and nachos which again were average. The kids had kids meals with no complaints. My main feeling after several visits to this place over the last 5 years is that the menu seems really good, but the food never measures up, leading to disappointment. Its probably best to save Borealis for drinks after work and share the ploughmans platter (Its pretty good to share with drinks).Hi Jean,Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about your experience at Borealis. I am so sorry to hear that you have found the food to be disappointing, that is certainly not the standard we strive to uphold. I would love an opportunity to discuss how we can entice you to come back and give us another try. Please send me an email at [email protected] and we hope to see you again soon!

A unique pub experience in Guelph, The Baker Street Station is proud to offer its patrons the finest food and drink in a thoroughly modern yet surprisingly traditional atmosphere.
Baker Street is always my first choice out for a pint. They have a great beer selection that rotates (posted on chalk boards) and a short gastropub menu.

Perhaps the Wooly concept is best represented by renowned Canadian artist Charlie Pachter's "Queen on a Moose" paintings. These pictures conveyed what would happen if a British pub was transferred to Canada. That pub would feature local foods, beverages a
