A local spot we like to go regularly. Very good burgers (also vegetarian options) for a very decent price. Burgers are always served with a pickle. I'd suggest to grab some fries with it and possibly some coleslaw. To finish things off, either grab a beer or a very nice banana milkshake

Cafe In De Blaauwe Hand

The Blaauwe Hand is truly world class. The bar keepers are very knowledgeable and are more than happy to make suggestions. They have a good variety of local and regional beers from the Netherlands and Belgium. The food is homemade and tastes great. There's nothing quite like having a few at this place, with the beer served properly, in its proper glass. The afternoon and evening just fly by.

A hotel called Val Monte in an affluent neighbourhood on the outskirts of Nijmegen.... I had an image of an old country mansion so it was rather disconcerting to walk up to something akin to a 1970s apartment block. The time warp continued inside, also reinforced by ads for ABBA tribute band and Beatle Revival weekend deals. Yes, the hotel seems to have been renovated fairly recently but do not expect charm: it is vast, with endless long corridors, large dining and meeting rooms, bars, terraces. My room, when I eventually reached it, was comfortable enough but uninspiring, with, as only amenities, a flat screen tv and hairdryer stuck in the wall: no drinks making facilities, no safe, no iron, no toiletries apart from generic ‘hair, body and hand’ soap dispenser, in what is billed as a 4* hotel. Overall, as a hotel, it is functional and comfortable: plenty of common space, a swimming pool and health suite on-site, restaurant serving tasty food and bar. It is very good value for money given these facilities and had it been a 3* hotel, I would have scored it more highly. However, I consider it average in relation to its 4* classification.
