The food is terrible. The beer isn't great, but the selection is good, but maybe that's why the beer tastes stale. The service it's cliche.Hi Jill - We'd love to know more details about what happened during your visit that caused you to rate us only 1-star. A laid back atmosphere, The Blackened Kraken Bar & Grill offers seafood & made from scratch, authentic southern food!
We stopped in for an appetizer and a drink. My wife, daughter and I sat at the bar and were rewarded with Awesome service. Our Bartender was very helpful she immediately offered us the drink specials. We ordered the $3 Land Sharks which was a heck of a deal. She suggested the Quesadillas which we got and were delicious. On our next trip to Greenville we will definitely plan to have dinner here.

Yes, indeed, the burger with the jalapeno jelly -- "Cobra Kai"--is to die for. The beef was juicy, tasty and perfect. There was just enough of the toppings... not too much, not too little. The french fries were fried to perfection. And the beers were ice cold. I'll be back, Jack.

I took a large group of people there last night. The bar service was great, the greeters/hosts were wonderful. We all were seated at our tables, and ordered a round of appetizers for the table. The kitchen forgot one of the appetizers. We had to ask for it and have the server go back and get it. The appetizers were very good. Our entrees came out. I was at a business dinner so I could not really get honest feedback from my companions, but my partner and I dined next to each other and I can tell you about those entrees. He had the ribeye. It was "nothing special, undercooked, and fatty." (He did not tell the server or me because he did not want to cause a scene at a business function. But, he told me after we got home.) I ordered the Filet Oscar. It came with mashed potatoes which were gummy and gross. I ate a few bites of the steak, which were good. And then suddenly I bit into a piece that was horribly burned on the bottom. I thought that was a fluke and took another bite, which also tasted strange. I couldn't eat anymore. The server came back and asked if I wanted a box. I said "Of this? No." He asked if everything was okay, I told him no, that the steak was burned on the bottom. He said he was sorry. He asked if I wanted another one, I said no. By then I was not hungry and I was frustrated. I also did not want 10 other people to have to wait on me to finish a meal after they were almost done.He offered me a free desssert, which I accepted. I got strawberry cheesecake to go. It was mediocre at best. I will not take a large group back to this restaurant I could have done better at a chain restaurant for 1/2 the price.

Quite a nice place. Comfy, colorful (i.e. a bit Redneck). Good food, good booze, and a good selection of beer on tab and bottled. The guys know their job, and can help you with your choice. When the university bunch is in town, it can get crowded, people say.

Dined here for the first time for dinner and had such a great experience. The atmosphere and decor are very comfortable and cozy. The menu had a wide range of options and the chef was willing to accommodate any changes that we had. The food was great and very affordable. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Wish we could have dined here for brunch as well!
