Unfortunately I did not order the corned beef! I ordered the mozzarella appetizer and it wasn't all that great, but the corned beef was fantastic! Others in our ever growing party ordered shepherds pie and prime rib, all of which they loved. We started with a party of 5 and ended with 8. They were accommodating with our sudden change and were so very kind to us. Save room for dessert, you won't regret it!

The Foundry

We were traveling from New York to Chicago and decided to spend the night in Elyria. After talking to a local person, we decided to try the Foundry as both of us are gluten free and the menu listed several gluten free choices. Usually gluten free means "taste free" - but this was not the case at the Foundry. We sampled the tomato bisque soup which was very flavorful and well seasoned. I had the Asian style salmon and received a large plate with a HUGE salmon filet over rice noodles with red pepper and peapods. My husband had a sandwich - gluten free choices for sandwiches were Texas Toast or bun. He had the Texas Toast which was delicious. Only small gaff was that our waitress had 10 tables to service - so things were a little slow, but we didn't mind. The menu has several appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, and a large array of alcoholic beverages. When in the area we would definitely return.

The Feve

We stopped into The Feve based on the tripadvisor reviews. It was 8:30 p.m. and it was noisy downstairs. Our home brewery has quieter seating upstairs so we asked about moving upstairs and we were told there was seating available. We went upstairs and we sat at a table. We had brought our menus with us. We noticed a waitress serving someone at the other end of the room, though no one came to serve us. After 15 minutes my husband walked up to the bar and the bar tender told him he could order at the bar, but she continued futzing around behind the bar. I have food allergies and we needed help with the menu. He asked if the hamburgers had onion powder and the bartender stated she'd have to check. He remained at the bar. She later advised the hamburger meat already had onion powder mixed in. She went back to futzing behind the bar, never making any suggestions as to what they could prepare that didn't have onions, and by that time I was tired of the lack of service and we left.

Old fashioned tavern with meals. Had the Hungarian Burger. Was excellent. Quiet little place. If your lucky and he has the time, sit down and have a chat with Joe. He’ll keep the food coming and Sheila will keep your beer flowing. Loved the experience.

Great place for a variety of food from sandwiches, meals, soup, salads etc. Great homemade chips with french onion dip. Pizza was tasty with a wood fired crust look. I will be going back.

A nice well appointed restaurant done with a touch of vintage railroad nick-nacks. Good sandwiches. Kinda pricey and a bit noisey. The golf and sports crowd hang out here. The first time I was there earlier this year, our waitress was unimpressive and blunt. The last visit we got a bit luckier with a much more pleasant young lady.

Wolfey's Bistro & Pub

Reviewed By LLDearness

We've stayed in Elyria a handful of times on our way to visit family further west (from DC). We've tried Wolfey's a couple of times & are fans. This is a well-run establishment - I'm talking in a class with the Gaylord in Dallas, TX with its convention crowds! This time there was a wait for a table in the regular part of the restaurant but none for the bar in the back. A bar that has multiple (empty) tables! We opted for the bar but didn't realize immediately the empty tables are up for grabs. The bartender was fast & super nice - directed us to the tables. We had our drink order then our meal order taken & arrive super fast. The waiter was unobtrusive but kept an eye out for us. There were 'normal' meal choices for my husband & interesting specials & seasonal choices for me. Seasonal drinks too - which I really enjoy trying. It was loud with multiple sports TVs but we were so pleased with the quality of the service, drinks & food it just didn't matter. A place we plan to come back to whenever we're in Elyria.

If you want a cheap, filthy, smoke filled dive bar full of pool tables, domestic beer, music by selection, and maybe even a bar stool that doesn't wobble, or match the one next to it, look no further. Like anyone who knows about dive bars, park in the back, although there is always ample parking right on the street in front. Every regular in the joint is worthy of a chapter in someone's unpublished novel. (The pool table accoutrements are all pretty decent quality.)

Visited this establishment for the first time as we will be moving into the area shortly. Felt like a small romantic place with an excellent menu selection. I had the lobster bisque which was fabulous and then the perch dinner. It was the best perch I've found in a long time. The batter was crisp and full of flavor and the fish was fresh tasting and nit greasy. My husband had the french onion soup and french dip sandwich. He said both were good especially because the meat in the sandwich was not fatty. We didn't care for the creme brûlée as much as we would have like to but it was still ok.We will definitely be returning as the prices were reasonable and service was good. Our waitress was friendly.
