Reviews on Bar food in Godalming, England, United Kingdom. Godalming /ˈɡɒdəlmɪŋ/ is a historic market town, civil parish and administrative centre of the Borough of Waverley in Surrey, England, 4 miles (6 kilometres) SSW of Guildford. The town traverses the banks of the River Wey in the Greensand Ridge – a hilly, heavily wooded part of the outer London commuter belt and Green Belt. In 1881, it became the first place in the world to have a public electricity supply and electric street lighting.

The Crown Inn Chiddingfold, Condé Nast Johansens Most Excellent Inn in Great Britain 2010 and awarded Recommended Status for 2011. An idyllic English pub, The Crown Inn nestles in a quiet corner of the picture-perfect village green of Chiddingfold in Surr
A picturesque building on the village green with a beamed interior with stained glass windows. Much to like. We walked in but were not greeted and had to find our own table where we sat down. We were then ignored for 10 minutes despite a waitress moving past several times, but without even acknowledging we were there. Service was definitely not a strong point. The food was quite good but nothing special. Overall disappointing.

We popped in here for a quick and simple early evening meal after a hectic and stressful day. A very warm welcome awaited, with the friendly waitress saying we could sit wherever we liked as we were early and none of the tables were booked until later. This was a great start as so many times in other restaurants we seem to get shown to a table right next to a noisy group even though there are better (quieter) tables free. This then spoils the meal, particularly for the elderly who have trouble hearing in noisy situations. We had a lovely quiet meal with very attentive staff. Some dishes have the option of a smaller portion which is great for those with smaller appetites. The beer battered onion rings were really tasty too!Thank you for a friendly welcome and another successful meal!

I met some friends for a meal at The Swan. It is a welcoming friendly place. It is dog friendly as well. The food and the service are good.I had a special- calves liver, which was slightly under cooked, but tasted fine. The chocolate brownie was nice and moist.

We went to the Dog & Pheasant with friends for supper in August. There was a great selection of beers for the chaps and gins for the ladies. We had a sumptuous supper, portions were very generous and filling. Children also enjoyed their food, clean plates all round. Staff were very attentive and a great time was had by all. Definitely worth a visit if in the Haslemere area. Lovely and relaxed atmosphere in traditional English pub setting.

Paul and Gwyneth (owners) have recently taken over the management of The Squirrel and have put a lot of effort into creating something very special that will rival any of the other pubs around the area. The food is fantastic, we have great chefs that prod
We can't find the words which can express how grateful we are to Paul and the team at The Squirrel who gave us the most perfect wedding reception. The location was great for guests traveling in from all directions. Everyone at the pub was so friendly, helpful and the food was out of this world. We and all our guests were blown away with how lovely everything was, with every detail covered and people on hand to help at every turn. Even when we weren't sure about entertainment, Paul was on hand to help out and gave us Mick, a great DJ who kept the floor filled to the bitter end. We stayed in the cottages overnight and were greeted in the morning with a delicious breakfast. I can't recommend this pub enough, whether it's for a drink, dinner or the most special event of your life.

In this Surrey pub and youâll find a friendly professional team that's passionate about pubs and caring for customers. The focus at The Mulberry Inn is all about where we are and who we are â a reflection of homegrown hospitality in the Surrey Hills. Disc
Didn't realise that The Mulberry is now under new ownership. We decided on the off chance to book a table and so pleased we did. Great service and friendly attentive staff. People enjoying the late afternoon sun and early evening drinks in the garden. Whilst the Sunday menu was mainly roasts there were a number of other dishes too. Great puddings. Will definitely go back on a regular basis. Would highly recommend

Located in the picturesque village of Witley, The White Hart is a purveyor of smoked meat, whisk(e)y and craft beer from BBQWhiskyBeer chef Sam Daffin. Since 2013, the 16th Century public house has been serving up a slice of metropolitan life in the Surre
Loving a few new things on the menu. The blue corn tacos with BBQ jackfruit are fantastic and KFC cauliflower had even the most staunch meat eaters in our party wanting more. But....and I keep asking, but to no avail.....please please please put the corn cobs with bacon butter back on the menu. However, I keep trying new things from the menu and never fail to be impressed......but would still love the corn back. Please? Service impeccable as always. Love the fact this is our local.

Beautifully set country pub that serves freshly cooked food, accompanied with impeccable customer service.
Have known this pub for more years than I care to mention and like, many establishments, it has had its ups and downs but this current iteration seems astonishingly good if you like pub food cooked to order from fresh ingredients by a professional chef.Starters were well cooked and nicely presented - a whole baked Camembert with pickle, calamari with chilli jam and terrine of smoked trout; the latter two accompanied by toasted sourdough. For mains, two of us had pork and beef roast - great idea - crackling and Yorkshire pudding together! And the Yorkshires - so large and crisp you could row across a river in one! Offered choice of how well done beef we would like. Plate arrived with properly roasted potatoes and parsnips. In addition, three bowls of vegetables - carrots, peas with mange tout and red cabbage as well as unlimited gravy. Perfectly cooked - rare beef, crispy pork crackling and al dente vegetables. Did I mention the bottomless gravy? The third person had gammon hock, two eggs and chips and, yes, it was on the hock and delicious. The final choice was moules marinière - again a superb shallots, cream and white wine flavour.Staff and service excellent - chatty, smily and professional. Venue dog and well behaved child friendly so great for a Sunday walk. Word is spreading so by 12:30 car park and all indoor seating full.Portions so generous, particularly roasts, that we couldn't manage desserts so will have to come back which not be arduous.

The Plough is a hidden gem in the Surrey country side. Home to a warm welcome, amazing food & friendly service. Come and join George, Ewa and the Team. Dogs welcome!
really great geographical situation; food was good but have we missed the boat on "pub food" in 2019?To anyone reading this review, I've actually been in contact with the reviewer who confirmed that this review was in fact for another Plough in the area (there are about 6 of us, 'Ostentatious' was the first clue that it might not have been us). Unfortunately, Tripadvisor wont remove the review (even though they have had confirmation that it is in fact posted to the wrong location) and the user doesn't know how to delete it. So please ignore it.CheersGeorge
