Things to do in Dinan

Le club has a small menu, but we used it mainly as our favourite bar in Dinan. It looks quite ordinary on the outside, but the interior is something else. It has been painted by a talented artist with an eye for colour. It's a meeting place for locals, some of whom seem to live there. On Sundays in January it is difficult to find any restaurants open so I asked the owner if he could recommend somewhere. He took the trouble to phone around and found us a really nice place. Next time we visit Dinan, Le Club will be the first place we will visit.

After being sent on a wild goose chase looking for the ancient town , we flopped down on the chairs out the front of this bar and ordered Tartines which were excellent! Then cheese platter and a chocolate cake for desert and tea/coffee. This was all great and the staff friendly especially the gentleman there, super nice. Good point too, the loo's are modern and clean.

Went to this restaurant because they had normal crabs on the platter and not the spider ones. The crabs were full of meat but the bulots had lots of sand and grit in them and were inedible. The langoustines were mostly full of water so hardly any meat in them. The oysters were quite small but tasty and the shell-on prawns okay plus the gris also. Staff were friendly and the food was served up fairly quickly despite them being busy. Nice setting by the river with good views.

First a wonderful find.....It looks like a bar from the outside, but don't be put off, go in, there is a proper dining room, some tables have rally comfortable arm chairs, with the table at just the right height....also there is a lovely terraced garden alongside one of the ancient walls of Dinan. Be warned this seems a very popular little place with all the locals, and there appeared to be only two waiters, who were rushed off their feet, fortunately we were in no hurry. Eventually we were asked by ERWANN who spook good English with an excellent accent if we would like an aperitif, we chose our drink, and in 'the fullness of time' these were delivered. Another longish wait and then ERWANN reappeared with an enormous blackboard with a vast selection of starters, main, desserts, or the usual set menu.....we chose our meal, (starter of 3 enormous Dublin Bay prawns, roasted mini tomatoes and salad for me, goats' cheese and honey for my husband, to be followed by a salmon 'slice' which turned out to be the most enormous fillet of salmon I have seen, for me, and sea bass with a risotto for my husband.). Again a fairly long wait, but when it did come, it was delicious. Really well presented, well cooked and imaginative. We were far too full to have a pudding.....the meal must have taken around one and a half hours from when we went in until we came out, which was leisurely and pleasurable. Really lovely atmosphere, and well worth a visit. There is a large car park just across the road, which is free between 12 - 2pm very civilised!!

Very pleasant Riverside cafe overlooking trees. Relaxed owners and staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. STEAK, (enormous and delicious) Moules Frites, Generous smoked salmon Nordic salad, superb house burgers, and effort for the Vegetarians with a huge and varied mixed salad with feta. Huge selection of Ice creams, fruit sorbet and smoothie fruit drinks. HIGHLY recommended.

Not a place for a proper meal as more of a bar with bar snacks. Great atmosphere and clearly used by locals. Deserves to do well.

They have the most amazing pizzas and salads. A much better value and better quality than creperies. Traditional French style pizzas - forestiere. Perfectly made coffee. Open late at night. Impeccable service.
Tired after a day out we spotted this place. Tried my very limited schoolboy French and it seemed to help with a little bit of patience on their part. No real need to but they seemed to appreciate the effort. Anyway good meals all round at a reasonable price with excellent service and if we ever get back to this area we'll definitely call again.

We, a mature couple, had an evening meal at this restaurant and we were very surprised at the quality of the food. We opted for the Menu Business (19.50â¬) and found it to be extremely good value. We opted for the carafes of wine- a 25cl of rose as an aperertif & a 50cl of red to take with our meal. Both were more than acceptable. All was good except that perhaps the service was a little slow.
