Stopped in here at the lounge before having dinner at Canaan Valley. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. They had a great variety of beverages, including craft beer from the local area. The appetizers were also delicious. The one side is all glass, so you can watch the deer in the lawn just outside while relaxing with a drink..
We are a full service bar with food. Not the typical deep fried "bar food". We serve homemade, home cooked meals and hot sandwiches. Our kitchen has the same hours as the bar.
My husband Tim and I found this treasure by accident. We were in town for our great-nieces' birthday party. Too early to go to the party and wanting to quench our thirst for an adult beverage, we initially went to Mountain State Brewery. Fortunately for us, it was closed. We had driven past the saloon to get to the brewery and made our way back to it. Hearing great music being played as we parked, we entered the place. No one in sight and the music stopped as we entered. This was how we met Gary. He had been working on the sound system and karaoke machine. A person couldn't help but notice all of the Florida Gator memorabilia in the bar, so I made sure to shout out "Roll Tide" real loud. After reading the beer menu my husband ordered a beer. I on the other hand saw Cock and Bull ginger beer and proceeded to order a Moscow Mule. Gary was impressed with my order and I was just as impressed with his rendition. It. Was. Delicious. Before long, we were introduced to Vickie. She ended up being the mother to a guy that graduated with my husband. They started playing the "Do you know so-and-so" game. Bout this time we parted ways and went on to the birthday party. We made our rounds, ate some food, said our good byes, then went back to the Saloon. We felt so welcome and comfortable there that Gary convinced me to sing karaoke not only with him, but also by myself. We had such a great time that we promised to stop in every time we are up that way. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who may be in the area.
