With algeciras as our âHOME away from homeâ for 9 days we started by visiting the this town first. Most people would not call it a charming town, but we are a little bit funny in that way so even in the most âuglyâ or forgotten towns we find some beauty or some interesting sites. After walking from the Corte engles (kind of shopping mall with free parking) to the plasma Alta and the old style covered fresh market we started to get a little thirsty and hungry. With TripAdvisor we saw that the no 1 ârestaurantâ was only 200m away. So the choice was fast made... bar la casita was a very authentic Spanish tapa bar... we were served with drinks encredibly fast and we also had to chose our tapas fast (they say Spanish people work slow, but I have never found this the case in the restaurant business ;). But the tapas were of good quality and taste and for only 13⬠(drinks included) we had enough âfuelâ to continue our walk about the town :)

Normally I would not be making an effort to get Italian food in Spain, but this place caught my eye. It's Italian food, but served in more of a tapas style so you can try a lot of different things rather than doing the Italian course style meal and being too full to move after (though that is good sometimes too, haha). There are Spanish options on the menu too, but it's primarily Italian. It's in a nice area near the water, so you can go for a walk after eating all that food. The restaurant wasn't too busy (I think it was a weeknight), but the staff were extremely friendly and often stopped to chit chat with us. Our waiter was helpful with recommendations too, because we were having a hard time making up our minds since most of the menu looks delicious. We ended up having the zucchini (they may have been pumpkin flowers, sometimes the Spanish word seems to be interchangeable for them) flowers and stuffed mushrooms to start and both were delicious. The flowers aren't always in season, so if they're available, I do recommend them. The meatballs were the best I've had in Spain, absolutely perfect. The jamon croquettes were crunchy and delicious, and the lasagna was so flavorful. We had tiramasu for dessert and it definitely lived up to our expectations after the meal we'd just eaten. This was probably one of the better meals we had in Spain, we were very happy with it.

Great little restaurant and popular with locals.Get there early after opening time to get one of only 2 tables. Most eat at the bar.Food is excellent and imaginative with great house wine.If you want something different from traditional Tapas, this is one to try.Prices are very reasonable.

My wife and I have a second home in Jerez. A friend had recommended this place. When we arrived it was crowded but there was one table for two free which my wife and I took. We were then told that the table was reserved but that we could put our name on a list for tables as they became free. We stood at the bar and had a couple of beers. We noticed that some larger parties who arrived after us were being given tables. After an hour my wife enquired when we were likely to be called and the manager said that we had been called but we had not responded. This was untrue as we had been waiting at the bar listening for a call. The moral is beware of a list reservation system which doesnât work or doesnât work fairly. The visit was not improved by a barman trying to charge 4 Euros for the second round of beers ordered rather than the 2.60 which we had been charged for the first round. We left in disgust with empty stomachs.

A busy evening in Tarifa, but we managed to grab a table outside this very popular bar and restaurant!Really friendly waitress, very patient with us as our Spanish is basic at best. Ordered the tuna meatballs in tomato sauce and the vegetable and chicken cous cous. Both delicious and full of flavour, really reasonably priced.Donât be put off by how busy it can be, thereâs a reason!

Tapas Bar. We cook with local food: retinto meat, tuna fish, fish varieties and seasonal vegetables
We have been traveling from Italy to Portugal and now to Spain. We ate the prawns, tuna toast and hamburger and they were all delicious. The owner was friendly and had great suggestions for what to eat. Stop here for a light dinner in Tarifa!

bar located in the neighborhood of the vineyard in Cadiz, fresh food, meat, fish and various
Came here because of TA reviews. Arrived as they opened, and got a table straight away. Within 15 minutes the place was full. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who looked after us all evening. We chose from an extensive menu, Cold Tuna and potatoes, Spicy chips, Bashed (or could be Damage) eggs which was fried potatoes with chorizo and 2 fried eggs sitting on top, pigs cheek, and sirloin steak. All washed down with 6 glasses of good wine and a Pedro Ximenez sherry to finish. 39Euro! Superb and excellent in every department, a must if you are in Cadiz.
