An authentic Scottish Pub serving a varied menu for the whole family, well known for the wide variety of Scottish Ales and Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
We were in Chester as the start and end point of our inn to inn walking tour. We visited MacLaomainn's on the last night of the walk. We decided to try the haggis as an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised. It came with tatties and neeps. It's actually a lot like hash so don't be scared off from trying it. We also had the steak pie and fish pie along with some Scottish ale. Highly recommend and would gladly return if we are in the area again.

A birthday celebration coupled with a compulsion for a mid-winter 'need to get out of the house' and the Fullerton was up to the challenge. A very creative and interesting menu. Our selections were well prepared and presented. Service was prompt, but without a wift of a need to turn our table. The only criticism was that the creamed cauliflower was bland. Good idea but it was too blah in the company of the braised lamb hock. Add some sharp cheddar and a few drops of Outerbridges and it would enhance the hock. Certainly not worth knocking their rating down.OTH: I was very impressed with the children's menu. On the back side of the adult menu with graphics that would appeal to children. The menu selections had some variety. It told me that this is a place that takes their younger patrons seriously and knows that the adults are going to enjoy the evening more if Sally and Jimmy are enjoying the evening also.Portions are large. We may split an appetizer and sale next time.

The Stone Hearth is an old fashioned Vermont Inn with a restaurant that caters to the entire family. Small tables for couples, larger family style tables for bigger groups, a big old fireplace with couches for relaxing, picnic style tables for family style dinners. They have board games around for the younger members of the family that may get bored while the adults enjoy conversation and adult beverages after dinner as well. They also have a full bar and seating at the bar with full menu if you prefer that. The staff is great. The people are local, regular travelers who know where to go and the newbies who were lucky enough to find the place. Enjoy, I know that we doThanks for the kind words

Attached to the main inn, Phelps Barn was once a carriage house for guests' horses. All legal beverages served. Free WiFi. NEW sit-down bar, upstairs in the pub.
There aren't many dining options in Grafton, VT, especially in October on a Monday night. But we enjoyed our dinner upstairs by the fire in the Phelps Barn. The meals were not cheap but the food was good.
