We were visiting the Island with another family, 4 adults and 4 children. Wondered past and decided to pop in as we wanted some lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and arrived quickly. Really pleased we popped in as all of us enjoyed everything.

Been twice this week, once for lunch and tonight for an evening meal! Food was excellent on both occasions. Chef has a wonderful personality and is an asset to the restaurant. I feel bad though as we sorted the bill out between us, after we left we realised we didnât leave a tip, so feeling bad sorry didnât mean too. Will be back again so will leave double next time. Lovely staff and service. THANKS so glad we found this placeHi, Thank you so very much for your lovely review. We are all so glad that you enjoyed your experience with us!Please don't feel bad! This review is enough! We are so grateful for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you again soon.Toni xx

The Crown Inn is located in the small village of Shorwell, just 5 miles from the centre of the Isle of Wight's principal town of Newport. Shorwell, a countryside village in the southwest, is a pretty, quiet little hideaway â the Post Office is its only sh
Sat outside in warm sunshine to eat lunch. My friend had the sirloin steak and enjoyed it. My husband liked his ham and eggs. I had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad with blue cheese dressing and chips as a side. I liked it all apart from the avocado, it was a strange runny green frothy substance that added nothing. The triple cooked chips were excellentIt's a pretty spot to sit, with a stream and take ducks, also play equipment outside for children

Was recommended to eat here by our B&B owner who also told us to make sure we booked as it is small and usually very busy. Real old fashioned charming village pub with an italian menu comprising pizza and pasta and much more. Went for the "life changing" lasagne which was very nice and the wife had the sea bass which was served on a bed of tagiatelle also very good. Service is good and friendly staff made it a nice atmosphere for a pleasant evening.

Came with some friends for a Sunday roast! Whilst the food took a while to come out, for £4.50 for a âsmallâ portion and a hot tasty roast, canât complain! Staff really friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend to book your table in advance! Will be coming back on my next Isle of Wight trip.
Joe's Bar is unique to the Island as it is located within the local Newsagents and Post Office and has become the hub of the village life. Excellent outside facilities with garden and patio. Good quality locally sourced food served 7 days a week. Roast di
Friends who live in Niton invited us ,together with another couple ,for Sunday lunch. This is a quirky place which somehow had the air of a French establishment. We walked passed the Post office section which had a few tables overlooking the road, then the small bar ,next to the back of the building where possibly 20 patrons could be seated. Beyond was a delightful garden with further outdoor seating. There were two choices of Sunday roast with vegetables, which three of our group selected. The remaining three ate from the specials board. In my case pork ribs on bubble and squeak with kale. About £10.50 I believe. The roast dinners were less. The atmosphere was homely with families and couples enjoying their meals. The service was acceptable and the food good. Tables are scrubbed wood . The toilets were clean. No great claims to anything other than a friendly pleasant eatery with alcohol .

Set in the middle of some of the Isle of Wight's most beautiful countryside, the historic Chequers Inn was once a Customs and Excise house. The Chequers has been in the Holmes family for 28 years and is now ran by Mark Holmes and his wife Laura. The pub o
Random choice from tourist guide book found on board ferry proved to be really lucky. Room was spacious and full of lots of little extras from lovely toiletries to new toothbrush, toothpaste, razor and shaving cream for the forgetful visitor. Bed very comfortable and views over the countryside are lovely. Lots of walks along the many bridleways to be found nearby. Food so delicious had no need to eat anywhere else during our 3 night stay. Large well equipped play area off the beer garden made this an ideal place for families and made me wish I was a child again. Staff are so friendly and welcoming

Our first time here for a meal and we were initially happy. Nice restaurant/pub with a nice ambiance. Menu choices were rather small which was disappointing and prices were higher that most competitors in the area. I was rather amazed that when choosing a Burger the chips were an extra charge of £2. Rather odd because who has a burger meal without the chips. My wife chose to have sweet potato chips with hers and our friend had pork belly with sweet potato chips. However the chips turned up and were almost cold. On mentioning this to the staff they were immediately replaced. We dine out collectively as a group once a month but would not rate the Taverners as one of the best we have eaten in, although we will return again to see how things fare next time.

The Buddle is a beautiful 16th century Inn located at the most southerly tip of the Island. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty it has St. Catherine's Lighthouse a stones throw away and is the perfect place for walkers to explore. Offering home c
Booked here whilst on holiday as it appeared to tick all the boxes, and it didn't disappoint. Very dog friendly, good choice of beers and wines. We had a 3 course Sunday Lunch, plentiful and hot. Soup starter was good, both beef and Lamb mains were good quality and plentiful. Bread and butter pudding on the special menu was excellent, very nearly Excellent, but very good all the same
