Things to do in Cananeia
Nice place with a cool atmosphere, live music and the best beer in Cananeia. affordable price. Sandwiches are tastefull

Frankly, catastrophic. Service erratic, order was lost and everything came in the wrong order. We ordered oysters for starter but after waiting 50 minutes (yes!) they brought the side-order of vegetables first, then 15 minutes later the oysters (which require no preparation other than shucking), then the main course. The oysters were room temperature, no ice in sight. Then came the main course: marinheira de mexilhão (moules marinières). I have a strong stomach and can eat most things as long as the ingredients are essentially comestible, but this dish was absolutely inedible. The moules were rubbery, tasteless and coated with congealed grease. Rather than being cooked in white white, they seem to have been been fried in what tasted like days-old fat plus vinegar. Which makes sense, as we discovered that the Miramar (while holding itself out as a fish restaurant) does not offer a single drop of white wine, either by the glass or by the bottle. They did manage to dig out a bottle of exorbitantly priced Portuguese red (the more affordable wines from the menu were, of course, out of stock â an old trick). AVOID AVOID AVOID. One of the worst eating experiences of my life, even worse than Brazilian hospital food. Plus it was expensive!! Go to Pontâs, which is five minutesâ walk away.
