The Three Horseshoes is a 400 year old country pub nestled in the beautiful Somerset village of Batcombe, with easy access to Bruton, Frome, Shepton Mallet, The Royal Bath and West Showground and only forty minutes from Bath and Bristol. We have a spacious
Went for Sunday lunch. Our plates of roast beef arrived depressingly quickly - literally within 5 minutes of ordering, clearly precooked. A lukewarm & overcooked mush of vegetables covered with slices of barely cooked roast beef. The meat was so raw that the gravy ran red with blood - who wants to dip a roast potato into that? Worst of all the beef was uncuttable & therefore barely edible. Our table shook with the effort of four people sawing manically. Service was also so lacklustre & amateurish it became uncomfortable. Weâve been here several times in the past and enjoyed great food in the lovely garden and swift cheerful service. Something has changed since we last came in May 2018. Is it management? Not the place it used to be. This is a destination pub for us and weâve always been happy to drive an hour. At £13.45 a head, itâs not cheap. We left feeling really fleeced & glad to get out of there. It was a birthday lunch, the experience was such a disappointment that we decided not to ruin the day further by going through the misery of complaining.

A wonderful traditional country pub inn with a warm welcome. Enjoy our modern dining restaurant and stay in one our elegant guest bedrooms. The Stagâs Head Inn at Yarlington first opened its doors in the 1850âs and weâre proud to welcome you to our charmi
Met some friends here for Sunday lunch, reserving a table was a good move as it was pretty busy. We had starters all the way through to dessert....all the courses were fantastic! No question or request was too much either, servers were attentive. Would certainly recommend if you were in the area

We telephoned on Tuesday evening and booked a table after trying twice mid-week in the summer only to discover they were fully booked. Having visited we now know why!The above heading says it all, with the benefit of very friendly local residents making the 90 mile drive from Painswick worth while and certainly one to be repeated inspite of the width of the A39 in places which caused the modern wide lorries to stop and wait for a similar vehicle coming the other way. Yet another downside of being part of the EU which we joined originally for TRADE, not GOVERNMENT from Brussels by unelected employees.Apologies for comments on EU but at 83 I am appalled at the lack of knowledge amongst the younger generation on what happened after 1940 and the massive debt owed to the UK by the EU, the main ones being freedom and life.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch on route to Dartmoor. We had fish and chips and ham eggs and chips with a scrumpy cider and an IPA. All were of excellent quality and the fish was especially thick and moist. The scrumpy was, cool, not cold, wet, fruity and slightly sour - yummy. The man serving was really helpful and knowledgeable about the ciders on offer. He checked if everything was OK a few minutes after serving. In the ladies there was a thoughtful basket of "toiletries" if you were surprised by nature.A very good place to visit if your passing on the A303. Thank you for your lovely review - we're glad you enjoyed your visit to us!

Traditional 13 Centuary public house, serving a wide range of home made meals 7 days a week, specialising in authentic Persian cuisine. Outdoor seating, skittle alley, pool table and giant multi screen sky sports.
From the outside this establishment looks like a fairly typical old English Pub and if you venture inside this would confirm that opinion. However, the chef is a Persian who is passionate about his food and offers a rare treat - genuine Persian food. Three of us all had different selections and it was served so that we could share - rather like a Chinese restaurant. The food was universally rated as quite wonderful. Worth a special mention was the saffron rice. I eat rice many times a week and I can honestly tell you that I have never had rice like this. It was incredibly good. I am going to have to try to make this at home.

This is the second I have eaten here and the Sunday roast is excellent, well cooked choice of meat, beef, pork, turkey and chicken. Beautifully cooked vegetables and roast potatoes. Excellent friendly service. Tip if you havenât got a huge appetite op for the small portion even that is plenty of meat and vegetables. Choice of deserts is fantastic as well. Highly recommend

Came here for lunch the other day. It was busy but our meal arrived remarkably quickly, given the number of people there. Lovely menu. Good food, really tasty and they do smaller portions if you want to cater for people with smaller appetities. Really couldn't fault it. Will be back.

This food is so good. The special lamb rump was massive, delicious, so well cooked and all together fabulous. This is our new regular haunt. Ambience, menu, service all great. Well done Chris and Jim.

Outstanding quality and service for a Saturday afternoon lunch in this lovely countryside pub in the beautiful surroundings of Somerset. Simple lunchtime menu but superior quality food with real cotton napkins - a sure sign of quality and attention to detail. Highly recommended for food quality and a good choice of local ciders. The Local still cider form the village won the Champion of Champions for the whole of the UK
