The Coach House, Roundwood, Co.Wicklow is one of the finest and highest pub restaurants in the Garden County. This award winning Irish Pub is close to Glendalough, Laragh, Enniskerry, Bray, Wicklow Town and the breathtaking scenery of Brittas Bay Beach, S
Eighty of us eat there after a family Christening. The food was delicious and plenty on the menu to choose from. There was a lot of people eating and drinking watching the GAA matches. We had a room to ourselves and it's very kid friendly with an enclosed Yard besides where we were eating so the kids could run and play. The Roundwood lake is a short distance away and the scenery is out of this world. It's easy to see why they call Wicklow the garden of Ireland. The staff were well able to deal with all their customers. There were a good few babies with us and there was no problem when it came to hearing babies bottles.

I'll start by saying that during my childhood we visited Bray a couple of times each summer and always ate dinner in Jim Doyles. Having lost my Grandad recently I wanted to take another trip out and do some of the things we used to including dinner here.It was yesterday, a bank holiday Sunday and we arrived for a drink and food at around 3pm and although the place was busy outside it wasn't full indoors yet we were left waiting nearly 20 minutes for service, we asked for a food menu and were told immediately that the kitchen was closed but they'd be taking orders in about half an hour. Meanwhile we were seeing plenty of plates of food being brought to other tables, but we waited the half an hour and asked again for a menu and were told that they were still not taking orders but would in half an hour, we asked could we get a menu just to browse and the guy never came back to us. We were drinking so didn't mind the wait but a short time later we overheard, we were at no point told this, that there was a huge backlog on food so the kitchen couldn't take any more orders for a while so we decided to head down to the arcade for a while. We came back maybe an hour and a half later to be told that the kitchen was completely out of food and wouldn't be serving again that day - now I understand that it was a busy day but given the fact that it was a bank holiday and the weather had been forecast I would have assumed that a seafront pub would have been fully prepared to cater for the customers, that is not my main issue with yesterday though. I was actually disgusted with the service, the staff were not pleasant or helpful, they at no point informed us, or those around us who also asked for food, what the situation actually was and we were continually fobbed off when we simply could have gone elsewhere for food. This place is completely different to the Jim Doyles I visited so frequently a number of years ago and not in a good way, I am so disappointed to see this place run so badly and just don't see myself returning again, I'd rather not ruin any more fond memories of the place.Hi LilMalteaser,Firstly, we would like to sincerely apologise that you felt let down on this occasion. We can assure you this is not up to our usual standards and we have shared your feedback with the whole team. While we were lucky enough to get beautiful weather this bank holiday weekend, it meant we were much busier than expected and there was a considerable pressure put on the kitchen. With so many orders, the team really had to work to get everything out, so we had to take measures to control the orders coming through. We also apologise for the wait that you felt, with things being so busy there was room for human error and we tried our best to accomodate everyone! We would invite you to visit us again, and experience the true Jim Doyle's!Jim Doyle & Sons

Just had a Fantastic Steak Sandwich In this lovely restaurant. It was exceptionally tasty and cooked to perfection with triple cooked chips. Compliments to the chef. I will return for more. Our waitress was Susie - she was lovely and looked after us so well.

The Wild Goose Bray brings you atmosphere like no other. Winner of Best Newcomer in the Irish Restaurant Awards. We have amazing food, drinks, live music and sport.
Had previously eaten in the grey goose about 2 months ago. My partner suggested we go out for a bit off dinner and I said we will go back to the grey goose. On arrival it was quieter than previous visit and was surprised with it being fathers day. So sat at a table and observed 3-4 Staff standing at the bar and one waitress floating back and forward looking busy doing nothing. After a few minutes of being ignored I got up and grabbed a couple of menus by the cashier point where waitress was standing and went back to our table and after a further 10 mins or so and still not even an attemp from any staff to see if we wanted to order or want a drink we decided it best to leave as the service (Or lack off) was atrocious. Very disappointed after previous visit. Perhaps Management need to invest in more staff training before bad staff ruin this business altogether .Hi there - thanks very much for this feedback - we were busy on Father's Day so may we ask was it the Wild Goose in Bray Co Wicklow that you visited or The Grey Goose in Drogheda, Louth? If ourselves, please message back so we can chat. Thanks in advance.

The staff are very friendly and helpful - especially Sean who goes out of his way to do everything for his customers. I love the food here - really well presented and tasty but reasonably priced. It's always busy here so there's always a good buzz. Personally I love the steak but the chicken curry is very good as well. We are regulars so would recommend it for food for anyone in the area.... I've never stayed in the hotel but I know if would be noisy as this is a very busy pub first and foremost and has a nightclub attached as wellDear xyz49,Thank you for leaving us this lovely review. It is always great to hear feedback from regular customers and we really appreciate your wonderful comments, especially about Sean. He was delighted to hear it. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.Kind regards,Robyn

This is a really good spot for lunch Food is good , sometimes great ( but even the not great dishes are above average)Staff are really nice , very friendly , efficient and knowledgeable .The view is spectacular ( if you get a window table) The bad stuff : Too many screaming kids for my liking The place could do with a good deep clean .All in all though would definitely return.Hey Carl and thank you for your 4 star review! We appreciate the feedback too on both counts and look forward to welcoming you back. Please always request a quieter table and we will always try to accommodate.

Really friendly service!Hi Braylo,Thank you for taking the time to review Box Burger! Chuffed to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to seeing you, the hubby and your furry children again soon :)Best,Aisling

Nice decor, very friendly service, good location right on the strand. Good parking in front. I had the duck. It was excellent. My wife had the fish and chips. Unfortunately, the fish was over cooked. I suspect that was a fluke because everything else seemed to click very well. I recommend the place and would enjoy returning. Hi DJB25Thank you for writing this review. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your visit to Ocean Bar & Grill but we are disappointed to read about the fish. Hopefully you will visit us again and enjoy another delicious meal.Kind regardsEmily
