Had lunch the other day there. Was a bit put off when I entered at 12:30 because the place was empty. Decor is average for a bar/restaurant. My food, however, the sausage and pepper special in a white wine sauce over penne, was excellent. As one would expect, the service was very good since I was the only patron.

Several neighbors got together for an evening out, some of us have been here before, had a good experience so decided to take some new friends, we sat in the bar lounge for happy hour the half price appetizers were all great with large portions, then we sat in the dining room where we chose our meals off the $10.00 menu, portions again were good as was the service, the staff were friendly. We will return.

We were all very impressed with the high quality food we enjoyed at Strega, from our appetizers (burrata cheese with fresh cherry tomatoes; arancini) to our respective main courses (the Bufala pizza, margherita pizza, and ravioli). Everything is clearly fresh, hand-made (pasta included), and cooked the authentic Italian way. New Haven is chock-full of pizza places, including several famous spots (Frank Pepe's, Modern, Sally's) with much better than average pizza. However Strega has the pizza that most closely resembles an authentic Neapolitan pizza, with a light, airy, chewy crust and simple, fresh toppings. We will be back for sure.

My mother and I came here in January 2019 to try to food to see if we wanted to have my baby shower there. We were definitely pleased with the food, got chicken francaise and penne alla vodka. Both portions were huge and very good. my mom got a cosmo, also good. If we are in the area we would definitely go back! We decided not to have the shower there because there big main room was definitely smaller in person than it appeared to be in the pictures. Glad we went to see it first before we reserved it. If we were inviting less people it would have been fine.

We had advanced reservations for lunch for a group of 30.As we only had 1 waitress, service was beyond awful. It took 35 minutes for her to serve water and a few iced teas.So weâre there almost 40 minutes before our orders were taken. Then we waited another hour for our orders to start arriving. And that was a lengthy inefficient process too. Lobster roll arrived, cole slaw several minutes later. Couldnât the kitchen put the dish of slaw on the plate?Food was okay and not inexpensive. We were there 3 hours.

Enjoyed lunch here recently - it has a very nice menu and the food was pretty good. We only had lunch, but all three of us enjoyed the food. Salmon burger with sweet potato fries (excellent fries), the cheeseburger spring rolls (so bad for you, but so good!) and the club sandwich in a wrap with a nice side salad. They also had a good beer selection and reasonably priced wines by the glass. I don't live in the area, but if I did, I think this place would be a good standby for eating out!Hello Anne - Thank you for your visit & taking the time to share your experience. We're glad we left a good impression on you & hope to see you upon your next visit to the area.

We went there for family dinner. We had wings and spinach dip for appetizer. Buffalo wings were delicious but spinach dip wasnât that good, the cheese on the top wasnât really melted and it was not really tasty. Our daughter love their burger. If you are a veggie lower you would love their cauliflower rice with vegetables. My husband liked their salmon. They also have a great desert menu. They have really good Creme Brûlée and Apple crisp.

It's located in a marina and has views of the water and boats with an outside patio. It can be hard to find with all the large boats in the yard.
Stopped here for dinner with co-workers on a Thursday night. They were busy but had a table outside available. This restaurant is located in a tucked away lot behind an old warehouse right on the water. Nice views when you're seated outside. The menu has a decent amount of selections. I ordered the lobster pasta. I thought it was cooked well and had good favor. I'm not sure why they have it with a tomato sauce. It would have been significantly better in an alfredo sauce. My colleagues liked their chosen meals as well.I would come here again and recommend this location for anyone looking for a good meal.

Weâve been coming here for decades. And for ALL of the years it had been a reliable choice. As a bar, it offers a friendly neighborhood vibe. The beer pulls are many, the pour is generous and prices are entirely fine. We have never encountered any staff problem. There is a large outside patio. Handicap accessible, clean and comfortable. And the food - - Sullivans kitchen is very reliable and the menu is varied, far beyond ordinary bar food. Portions are large and prices reasonable. They do everything right.

We met six of our friends here last Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We had made reservations, but for that particular time, they were not needed as the restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated in the back room and, for the next hour or two, were treated like VIP guests. Since there was no one else in the room with us, we had the undivided attention of our server..........our experience here was THE best!!!Both the drink & food menus were great... many options and all very fairly-priced, we thought. After drinks, our group shared two appetizers.........Artichoke Whipped Ricotta Dip and General Tso's Brussel Sprouts. Both were delicious! I have to be honest, though......we never would have even considered the Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer, but our server recommended them to us. So glad that she did because we would have missed out on the incredible flavor of the roasted Brussel Sprouts! As for our entrees, we ordered so many different ones and all were great....not a bad one in the bunch, as they say. Included in our selections were the Hickory Smoked Maple Dusted Filet Tips Salad, Grilled Salmon Salad, Patty Melt, their "Home" Burger, Smoked Salami "Home"-Style Mac & Cheese, and Grilled Cheese Sandwich on Sourdough Bread (from the children's menu).Three of us ordered their "Home" Burger...with temperature requests ranging from medium rare to medium to well-done...and all were prepared perfectly.Portion sizes for all entrees were quiet ample......very few of us were able to leave a clean plate. This is a restaurant that we would highly recommend! Even though we didn't need reservations for our Sunday lunch, you might want to call the restaurant just to be sure that you don't need one for your dining adventure here.
