Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Bethesda. Bethesda is an unincorporated, census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. In Aramaic, ܒܝܬ ܚܣܕܐ beth ḥesda means "House of Mercy" and in Hebrew, בית חסד "beit ḥesed" means "House of Kindness". The National Institutes of Health main campus and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center are in Bethesda, as are a number of corporate and government headquarters.

Being a Platinum Elite Marriott loyalty member I've stayed at many Marriott properties US and overseas but NEVER have I encountered a hotel infested with gnats/small bugs in the dining areas! It is so disheartening to go to the restaurant and bar area and see customer's sitting with napkins over their drinks and swatting gnats away! These bugs are also in the lovely "M" club area. I've eaten breakfast at the M club every morning for a week and despite being away from the restaurant area those nasty bugs still make their way in the M club. Also, other than breakfast the food in the restaurant is not up to the Marriott quality. From the flatbreads to simple dishes such as chicken tenders the food is pretty disgusting. The next time I am in the Washington DC area I will stay at a different hotel.

The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. We made a reservation though it didn't feel too busy. Our server Louis was very nice. We got water and a very sour lemonade. We got bread oil and cheese with our meal. My son and husband split a giant chicken parmesan entree which they felt was very dry. It came with pasta and blob of mozzarella cheese. They ordered some extra marinara sauce to make it more flavorful. I had the simply grilled salmon with herbed roasted carrots and pilaf. It was simple and nicely grilled. The meal was ok.

We ate breakfast here last weekend. We had omelettes and pancakes. The food was good and the service was also very good. This restaurant is inside the Hyatt Regency.

Driving by on a visit to the DC area, we stopped here for lunch with our hosts, making a party of four. Busy but not overly crowded on a Monday at 1PM, we found the atmosphere pleasant, the service just fine and the food OK but not great. Portions were extremely large, perhaps too large.Dear Arthur,Thank you for your review and feedback. We take a lot of pride in what we do, so it was disheartening to hear that you found your visit with us just "average". Please let us know what we could improve upon, as we are always learning from Guest feedback. Thank you again for your and we hope that during your next visit to the DC area, you get a chance to stop in again. Best, Patty

Our friends group had a nice lunch experience at Rock Bottom Brewery in the heart of Bethesda, MD. Server Kendra and other staff were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the tasty Salmon and strawberry salad. It was served fresh and cold. The salmon was very nicely prepared although I wish the fish serving would have been a bit larger at a price of +15.00 for the salad.

While in Bethesda for business, I went to dinner by myself. I liked the options on the menu and chose the Mussel Bar and Grill. The hostess was very friendly and when I was seated the manager came and took my order. The server - Mason - was very attentive and responsive. The service was excellent. I had a half-order of mussels with bacon and an excellent broth. It was served with fries and bread. They were excellent - flavorful, well prepared and more than. enough for a full meal. I will return when I get back to Bethesda.

The layout for the brunch is simple--salad and cold seafood, some hot food, and then dessert. It doesn't sound like much but man, everything was fresh and tasty. The salad dressing was appropriate. The clams and mussels and prawns were fresh and springy. The beef steak was juicy and the sauce that accompanied it just full of umami. (My saliva glands are working as I type.)And I should mention that the drinks--I recommend the bellini with ginger--went very well.Go for it.

We visited Bethesda and found Gringos & Mariachis to be very authentic Mexican food. The Staff was also quite friendly & quick. We will return again. Besides the food, they have quite a list of creative & unique drinks. We asked for some adjustments to some drinks, like replacing tequila for mezcal, and they gladly accommodated our requests. Net, very worthy experience.

Choosing to visit for lunch an old favorite, my party of three friends ate here one week day recently. The atmosphere and attentive wait staff were the only good things I can say about our meal. First of all, I will warn that when I began this review, I observed that the in-house menu is quite different than what's posted. Second, when ordering an iced tea- unsweetened, I was served an 'arnold palmer', which I did not like and promptly returned. The entrees (soup and sandwiches) were adequate, but not tasty. The only food I enjoyed was a kale/cabbage slaw accompanying a sandwich. The chicken tortilla soup was way overpriced (9.) and nothing like the brothy other versions I have enjoyed elsewhere. For a side order of fries, we were charged $14- YES, you read that correctly !! All in all, this was not the wonderful experience we used to remember in the distant past and, needless to say, I probably won't be back.
