The Pickled Onion restaurant and bar has been a popular hit in Bermuda since first opening its doors in 1998. Serving up some of the best upscale casual food and drinks on island, you will see why you were told "if you visit one restaurant in Bermuda, mak
We popped into the Pickled Onion for a lovely brunch on Sunday at noon. The concierge at our hotel told us that it's a sure bet, and he was right! The hosts welcomed us upstairs over Front Street, and we enjoyed the view of Front Street bustle and the shimmering harbor at our table near the window. There is outdoor seating, but it was a bit too hot to linger outside. I was delighted to see that they were offering both a brunch (until 3 PM) and a lunch menu on Sunday! It was difficult to choose from all the choices. I ordered avocado toast with bacon and egg, and my husband selected a Thai hot pot. Both were scrumptious, and we cleaned our plates! Great value, too!

This is our second time here. Last time was 2014. We only had drinks and the lobster bisque then. This time we had dinner, 4 adults and three kids. The restaurant location is fabulous with an open air feel over the water. The food was a huge disappointment. The lobster tail was overcooked and worth maybe two bites, $18/bite and not good at all. The mussels were bland. The corn on the cob and mac and cheese sides almost awful. I will say the service was very good. In fact, a manager perhaps (not our server) Came by and asked with sincerity how our meal was. When we told him about the mussels he didnât charge us. Another positive was that the kids pasta was really good but $15. If we return, we will go back to drinks and the bisque.Dear LvBruinWe are disappointed to hear that you experience with us did not meet your expectations and whilst an apology can not alter the experience you did have, we do extend it with sincerity. We hope you will give us another try in the future.Kind Regards,Madison Mello

Now then, before I start the first of my reviews on Bermuda please be aware, especially for UK travellers on a budget, prices everywhere are extortionate no matter where you are.Service charge is automatically added to the bill and you are expected to cash tip on top, ah, love that game!Wahoo Restaurant/ bar/ bistro is a real treat. My wife and I went there for evening meals and lunch. It is mainly a fish/ seafood lovers menu but there are both meat and veggie burgers. Portions are large, American size, so be aware of that when ordering extras etc. Each visit we had a variation on Wahoo, delightfully grilled to perfection. Lovely fresh crisp salads, one time I had a bowl of chips for a treat (french fries) and they were very nice, light and crisp. All washed down with a crisp Island brewery lager, very nice. Wine is avaialble by the glass or bottle, Stella Artois also available on draught. I noted white Pinot was around $46 a bottle, lager around $9.50 an Imperial pint. The Wahoo salad was around $25, specials can be pricey and NO prices are displayed on the specials board so beware. The Tri-fish combo was $37 (glad I didn't order that as it was fried). A couple of puddings were ordered, a very pleasant chocolate bread pudding with Goslings rum custard, nice. All told this was a great place to eat, lively, great staff who are very attentive. If you can stand being pestered by bees book a table out on the decking. You may be lucky as the chef comes out and feeds the fish and there are some beauties to see, including moray eels, very entertaining.

So we have been going to Bermuda for years and have made the trip to the Swizzle Inn every year . It use to be better years ago that it is today . The food is over priced and in some cases over cooked ! The place is crowded and noisy being right on a road that has now become very busy . So go there once and call it a day ! We will not go back , typical lunch for two with out drinks 50.00+ Service is terrible and the food is just so so . All that said this is your typical tourist trap !

Stopped in for lunch and to catch a game. Very expansive menu, excellent sandwiches, Pot Pies, nachos, appetizers... Everything we ordered was fantastic and HUGE portions!. Ice cold beer and tons of specialty drinks. Service was fantastic even considering it was packed with NFL fans. They also have a huge sports bar in the back with tons of TV's and big screens. Thanks for the great review Wesnile - hopefully see you for some football in the future.

We went one day for lunch and golf, and on another day for dinner. Both times our food and service were above par. I had wild mushroom risotto - cooked perfectly. My man had lobster ravioli in a saffron veloute - to die for! Complimentary fresh bread, with sun-dried tomatoes etc cooked in, was served with tapenade and 2 types of hummus to start. We were given complimentary limoncello digest-ifs after dinner as well. We would absolutely return!
