Great people, inventive tacos and changing Chef's Specials. Brew Keepers beer and ale on tap - an impressive range and quality there - and a nice selection in the beer refrigerator as well. On the menu, my favorites are the Bay of Pigs and Lucky Pig tacos, but I've never had anything I didn't think was really darn good.
Seeing french fries on top of a salad was a first for me, but good thing I can take them off! The steak salad was awesome and my husband and son enjoyed their meals as well. Service was a bit slow but everything was laid back so it was no big deal.

Well it turns out they only have crab legs on Wednesdayâs so that was a bit disappointing. The grilled mango shrimp was good as were the crab cakes. The shrimp fajitas were fair at best. Surprisingly empty for a Saturday night. Just a short walk to the water. Not sure walking around after dark would be safe though. The historical bridge is nearby.

The Ohio Valley's Original Sports Bar Restaurant. Full service. Steaks, Ribs, Wings, Pasta, Chicken, Seafood. A great place to watch all sports. The ONLY 28' Video Wall in the area. TV's at the booths and all around the restaurant. Pool tables, game area
Here for dinner on a Sunday night. Nice sports bar atmosphere, we watched the NBA finals game. Menu and prices are typical for this type of establishment. Food was quickly ordered and served. One note though, I ordered a beef dip sandwich which comes with a beef "au jus". This "au jus" is typically straight beef broth or bouillon. Theirs reeked and tasted very much of soy sauce, most unusual and debatable at best. Server was obviously having a bad night, with a very unenthusiastic attitude shall we say.

We went for lunch. Met with awful service, prices and food. $9 for a hamburger so dry you can barely swallow. Filet was also quite lackluster. Only decent thing brought to the table and worth itâs price was the chef salad. I asked if the food was pre cooked...it is. Why pay so much for basically leftovers that are reheated? Couldnât get napkins or refills and was offered another menu choice but declined. Iâm not trading one gross pre cooked meal for another. Thanks but no thanks.

They were recommended by the people at the welcome center on west side of I-70. Not a fancy place, just a local great place. Very reasonably priced entrees and and sandwiches. We had the special, a hand cut 8oz rib steak dinner with two sides. It was thin but had a great flavor and was cooked perfect. The raspberry vinegarette was delicious and they serve a large amount of different beers including one from right there in Wheeling. Very pleasant dinnerThanks for the kind words. Next time through Wheeling on I-70, you will not have to ask where to go..LOL.

Ye Olde Alpha is a Wheeling restaurant institution, and celebrates its 85th year in 2017. We pride ourselves on fresh, quality food with impeccable service
My "local" husband wanted a trip down memory lane, so we went to Ye Olde Alpha. The decor is tired, the food is uninspired, drinks are boring & the service was very basic. However, the place was quite crowded on a Thursday night....though I'm certainly not sure why!Thank you for coming to dine with us and we apologize that your experience was not a favorable one. The Alpha is celebrating its 87th year so while we think we are doing some things right, we are not perfect. We appreciate you taking the time to review us regardless. Wheeling Brewing Company is a micro-brewpub located in Wheeling's historic Centre Market district in downtown Wheeling, WV.
The food and most of the beer sampled were good, one we finally got them. It was a busy Friday night but sitting at the bar I would have thought we would be hard not to see. Staff looked at us but decided washing a few items and placing them in bins was more important than getting our order. A couple next to us questioned about some of the beers and nary a sample was offered, the look on their face when tasting said it all a small sample would have been better for choosing what they hoped for.
