Bayfield doesn't have a huge restaurant selection by any means but BSB is probably the safest bet for most folks. My father in law LOVES the place and comes every Friday for the special. It changes every week and he never seems disappointed. I was visiting him for 12 days and we went here 3 nights. The margaritas are always excellent and while I always like the food, this visit I had the local beef hamburger and it was FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC!!!

Took the motorbike out for a short spin to check out the "legendary" Rusty Shovel at Vallecito Lake. Had lunch and were very disappointed by the food and service. The beef brisket on my sandwich was so dry and tough that I couldn't bite the meat. Too bad since the place itself has a lot of atmosphere!

Wherever I go I like to seek out the local flavors and characters. Anyone not a local will stick out like a sore thumb which is all the more reason for me to stick around and observe. Drinks good, food OK and the locals aren't as tough as they portray. If you're not intimidated by someplace that doesn't rival Applebee's it is OK to stop here. I'd give it a 3.5/5 and will stop again if ever in town just for fun and maybe a game of pool with a local.
