This hotel is a tourist sight in itself. Lovely architecture to walk around and skybar is reasonably priced considering China is similiarly priced. Food does't start till 5pm so were't able to try them for lunch as planned. 10mins walk from the duty free centre so if you're on a free bus from your hotel, you can shop and visit this bar too.

First I want to say that the employees working there are very very nice. Although very few of them speak english, the ones doing so were very helpfull and treated us very good. The breakfast buffet is for a hotel in china very good. You can find a lot of chinese food but also a lot of western food, which was very important for me. the hotel is beautiful and if you can catch one of the rooms at the first floor, you'll have the pool right in your balcony. The pool is huge and the beach in front of the hotel is clean (you cannot swim in it in august/september because of the current and the jelly fishs). There is also the r kids club, which is a good playground for kids to play, when it is rainy or it is too hot outside. The gym has everything a gym needs and the spa is also beautiful, but every treatment is extremely expensive. The balcony in the rooms are big and cosy. While dinner you have nice life music and the room service cleans the room twice a day!But now i have to mention the bad things. The ways to the Reataurants and the beach are quite long because the hotel is huge. There is not one market or supermarket close to the hotel, so you can buy some fruits or a yogurt or what ever you might need. Even if you think to bring food with you the first day, the humidity and the ants will destroy it. the fridge in the room is really small, so no way to store fruits or food in big quantities. The food in the restaurant is tasty but very expensive. Also the portions are quite small for these prices. As there is no other option for food, you'll have no choice but to eat in the hotel. The tv program is pretty lame. We had mold in the joints in the bathroom. the floor in our room was always wet, we didn't figure out why exactly, so it was really dangerous for our daughter to walk on the bare ground. The furnitures in the rooms are quite old and the bed made loud sounds when one moved. Also thd matrasse is old and you can see the molds where the people slept. It was thinner on the edges than in the middle. I tried to order food into our room but because the employee on the phone didn't speak english well, she didn't understand me. We had this problem 4 times! I cannot understand how they put someone on the phone who doesn't speak english!!! It was really annoying to order the food on the phone! This is the management's fault!Over all i don't think that this hotel deserves 5 stars. comparing to other hotels i visited i would give it 3 or maximum 4 stars because of the state of the furnitures. The entrance and the employees however deserve 5 stars. Just wanted to thank you for your recent stay here at Renaissance Sanya Resort & Spa!
