This inn is pleasantly situated in a quiet village. It is surprisingly modern inside, given its beautiful vine-clad exterior and, perhaps, a little lacking in cosiness and charm as a consequence. The rooms are functional in style - which is no bad thing - although it would have been good to be able to say the same thing about the shower, which was weak and pointed in most directions. And please don't start me on the ridiculousness of the whole wet room concept - who wants to paddle in to clean their teeth after a shower? There is not a great deal of sound-proofing between rooms, although this is mostly made up for by the quiet location. The food was ok, standard fare for both the pleasantly served breakfast and evening meal. Good value.

A Greene King Value Local Pub set in Carterton. We have a great pub menu and fantastic beer garden. We have offers on Draft, Spirit and bottles throughout the week. All major live sporting events shown around the pub and on the big screen.
Service for both drinks at the bar and for food is good.Friendly atmosphere.Nice pints! - Can tell they clean their lines and the staff take care in pouring you any drink to its best.Gary in particular is a great bartender and knows his ales well :)Hello Heather S, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!

Recently taken over and under new management. We are now a family run local pub, serving traditional pub grub, alongside our full restaurant menu. We have a good selection of real ales, beer and wine. And welcome all who walk through our doors, including
Visited late on a Sunday service but was still welcomed in and had quite possibly the best Sunday Roast Iâve had (I hope the wife doesnât read this!).Great portion size, even the kids one was big, meat was fantastic (we had a Pork and a couple of Lamb) and everything was cooked to perfection. The vegetables had the right amount for crunch and nothing soggy to be seen. And donât even get me started on the Yorkshire puddings!!The only downside was that my belly, and trousers, wouldnât allow me the room for a dessert.10/10 from me

Come and enjoy a taste of the Cotswolds with us With the river Thames on our doorstep, naturally our menus are brimming with fresh fish dishes plucked straight from the river and nearby chalkstreams - from trout rarebit or our fish of the day to crayfish
Iâm walking the Thames Path from the source of the River near Kemble to Oxford. I selected The Trout at Tadpole Bridge because I didnât want to walk from Lechlade to Newbridge in one day (Iâm old and take my time). Iâm very glad I stopped here. Wonderful greeting on arrival, delightful garden area next to the Thames, some good ales, a large, clean room and bathroom (Henâs Hackle was the room name), a superb meal, and an equally superb breakfast this morning.Every staff member was cheerful. The common areas and the restaurant were spotlessly clean. And, again, the food was excellent. All in all, Iâm guessing this will be the top spot during my five overnight stays.

The Hollybush Witney. Independently owned and run by 2 local chaps who both share a passion for good food, real beer and fantastic service.
We had dinner here. Hadnât realised until too late it was a Greene King pub otherwise would have gone elsewhere. Not much choice of real ale although the one I did have was good. We walked through to dining area and although there were plenty of staff around, they seemed quite busy chatting to each other so we didnât feel we ought to interrupt and ask to be sat down! Eventually one who was not part of that group came and showed us to a table and was very affable. We only wanted main courses and both had Haddock. It was nicely cooked, plentiful chips. Only a small contained or pea purée (almost mushy peas, which I like , just not much of it). As with all Greene King places, it was a bit expensive for what we had - £47 for two fish and chips and two large glasses of wine. Service, once weâd been noticed, was fine.

Travelled to the Cotswolds for a hen weekend and this was the local pub. We were met with a really warm welcome. Itâs a lovely old pub with gorgeous Cotswold stone. We all had lunch and they coped really well with lots of staggered orders at different times. We also use the pub as caterers at our venue and they delivered wonderful food to us which was great quality and lovely and hot. Highly recommend

History of The Clanfield Tavern The village pub we now know as The Clanfield Tavern was built in 1610 and named The Masons Arms, the date being recorded on the original fire-back - a copy of which can be seen in The Tavern over the fireplace. In the early
Our group had beef, pork and lamb roasts and a childâs beef roast. All really good. Delicious gravy. Really nice staff and lovely pub inside and out. Beautiful setting. £20 for two courses, £25 for three. Had mushrooms, terrine and whitebait for starters and sticky toffee, cheese cake and Eton mess for dessert. All fresh, tasty and filling. Would definitely return. Little games room for the kids inside too which was great and an outdoor game to keep them entertained. Plenty of places outside to find shade if needs be. Really good experience, thank you.

2nd time at this restaurant and truly worth it! Food was sooo good and portions sizes were great. I had the salmon and the creamy potatoes with vegetables (both visits) and it was yummy!

The Cotswold Plough is a perfect example of a 16th Century, stylish yet informal hotel. The hotel is perfectly located to explore landmark Cotswold towns, the rolling countryside and the Dreaming Spires of Oxford. Bampton, home to Downton Abbey, is right
The building itself looks quintessentially English, set on a manicured lawn with ample outside seating. Inside it is cosy & inviting without being old-fashioned. Apart from its reputation for great food, we wanted most of all to visit the famous gin pantry just off the main bar. One of the patient barmen offered helpful advice which was more than welcome considering there is such a huge selection of gins, some of which aren't even on show. Eventually having chosen, we drank expertly mixed G&Ts on the terrace, one enhanced by fresh ginger, the others with pink peppercorns & cucumber. Dinner to follow was impressive; a menu which was not overly long but used local produce in inventive & delicious ways. Wine we thought inexpensive compared to London & a good range available. Service was good, the atmosphere relaxed - you wouldn't feel out of place whatever you wore.
