County pub full of charm with a modern twist.
Had a meal last night, 4 of us & everyoneâs dinner was amazing! I had the trout & it was delicious. A full trout & cooked to perfection. Others had the sausage & mash, the pork in peppercorn sauce & the minted lamb casserole. All of it was fabulous. As for the jam rolly polly... that was exceptional!! Highly recommended

A friendly and warm reception awaits you when you visit the Wheatsheaf. Serving delicous freshly cooked food and the best drinks in town.
After wandering around Bakewell looking for somewhere to have dinner we decided to give the Wheatsheaf a go. We ordered steak and ale pie and chicken and leek pie and were not disappointed, both meals were really good. The barman was attentive but not overly so and made us feel very welcome. I would recommend and revisit this establishment.Good Morning,Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, we appeciate all feedback we recieve.Im am glad you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to seeing you again soon.Rory

We stopped for lunch and a drink recently, pleasant staff, good pub food menu and some specials also available. The beer and the food were very good and excellent value for money, nice pub atmosphere

We eat out a lot in lots of different restaurants but we both agree that the meal we had here was the best weâve had in a long time. The servings were excellent. The service was great and we loved the environment. If we lived closer we would definitely go back. Well done! Wow, thank you for your fabulous review, we are very happy you enjoyed your visit with us, we hope you will call again soon

Called in on a busy Bank Holiday weekend for Sunday lunch. We both ordered the Roast beef dinner and it didn't disappoint, great service, good food and friendly efficient service. Atmospheric, traditional English pub.

Traditonal pub, with a modern twist serving a selction of well kept cask ales, and excellent pub grub.
A long way from home, we came to The Manners for lunch. Inside and outside it appears to be a no-frills pub. The food, however, is absolutely amazing. A high proporttion of items on the menu were either gluten-free or could be made so (important for us as one of us is gluten-free). One of us had cod wrapped in Parma ham with green beans and citrus cream sauce, the other had honey roasted belly pork on black pudding hash. Exceedingly generous portions, beautifully presented, exquisitely cooked. In decades of eating pub lunches and dinners, I do not recall one as good as this one at The Manners. With a side of veg, two lime and sodas the bill came to £33 - unbelievably good value. The super-friendly waitress told us that a husband and wife team own and run the pub and do the cooking. Well done to them and many thanks!A lovely place which we will be back to next year when we make our annual pilgrimage to the Rock and Fossil Fair in Bakewell.

Traditional Village Inn. Gluten Free Options . Vegetarian Options. Dogs and Muddy Boots welcome. Children's Menu available. Lunchtime Light Bites Menu. Pretty Beer Garden.
We ate with friends on both a Friday and Saturday night recently and we could not have been made more welcome! The food was excellent and everyone we spoke to, including numerous staff, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Our friends were staying from the US and we turned up, not having booked, and still received excellent service and fabulous food. Highly recommend the vegetarian oatcake with Brie and walnut or the burger! We were a party of 11 with 6 kids and a puppy! - so not the easiest group to accommodate but The Crispin did it admirably! We will definitely be back and we strongly recommend it to all. A proper country, dog-friendly, village pub who offer all you could want!Excellent!

Absolutely delicious. We had fillet steaks for my birthday dinner. I can honestly say they were the best steaks we have ever had, absolutely beautiful. Even had puddings, can highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding with cream. What an extremely talented chef! Well done. Lovely friendly staff. The rooms were rubbish though. No power whatsoever in the shower and a really dated bathroom. Too much furniture in the room. Booked 2 nights but left after 1 due to poor bathroom facilities.

The Packhorse Inn is a quirky little pub with only 10 tables serving the best local produce we can find. We specialize in meat and game but we also offer tapas, sandwiches, bar snacks, sharing platters, specials and vegetarian options. We change the black
We alway look forward to coming here as the pub may be small but the food always makes up for the lack of space. On our first trip we both had chicken which was a little under seasoned, but the cheese board was excellent. The second visit we both had lamb on butter beans which wasnât to our taste.Thatâs hasnât put us off, we will be back in 2020
