Stay out! Needed to wait for 45 min for 3 simple sandwiches and a burger. Only the vegi burger was ok. Burger was swimming in want-to-be meat sauce. The fries around it were already drawn... Worst meal ever!

It's tiny but we had a great lunch here with bruschetta and petiscos, the meat and the cheese were so tasty. And the young man who cooked and served us was very nice so we highly recommend the place especially as it's far from being expensive.

The food was excellent quality and very tasteful. Modern style. Portions are not to big but enough to share and taste a bit of all the delicious plates they offer. Nice also for vegetarian people.

Bar dos pauzinhos

Reviewed By ButterballBurlington

We had been planning to have dinner at the nearby Adega Regional Quelha which was quite highly rated on TripAdvisor, however because that place was not going to be open until 7pm, we wandered across the street to the terrace of Bar dos Pauzinhos perched above the plaza to have a drink while we waited. The view was lovely on their patio right next to what looked like an ancient stone building and we were promptly greeted---in pretty good English too----by a fellow who turned out to be the owners brother. We took him up on his suggestion of a small appetizer to go along with our bottle of vinho verde and subsequently, feeling quite pleasant by this point, we perused the menu, deciding to stay for dinner. His suggestion of their version of Franceschini was excellent, although, be warned, the portion is huge and was easily split by two in our party. One of us had a nice fresh salad and, in case we might need a bit more, we went along with ordering a side dish of fries-----huge too! By then, enjoying our leisurely meal and the view, we succumbed to a second bottle of the crisp vinho verde and opted to split a rather generous crepe with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Do not be fooled by the what looks like a small "bar" from the street, because inside the place is spacious, modern and some of the cleanest and best designed washrooms we came across in our Portuguese travels. Only one other table was occupied under the umbrellas on the terrace when we arrived, but by the time we departed about two hours later, the place was buzzing with local folks, not one other group of tourists, which only added to our experience. And the tab? A deal, put it in the category of "Cheap Eats", even with the two bottles of wine!! We were pleasantly surprised all around with this find and would highly recommend it. Also surprised to find out later that there had only been one other tripadvisor review (also someone who had serendipitously stumbled across this little gem), however, on Google Maps, we found 130 reviews (rated at 4.2 out of 5------a bit higher rated than what we had intended as our first choice for dinner, vindicating our decision to make Bar dos Pauzinhos our dining choice)) and at least 30 pictures which if you check that out, you will find pictures of their Franceschini and the Strawberry crepes----just to wet your appetite. Give Bar dos Pauzinhos a try, you won't be disappointed.
