Brickyard Burgers & Brews

The burgers here are beyond great. Good variety of items on their food menu, I recommend the pepperjack cheese bites. Their beer selection is also very, very good. I think they had about 24 different beers on tap. Of that number nearly half (around 12) were "Local" beers...beers from nearby place in Iowa. That is the best selection of brews I have seen in a pub in a long long time! If you enjoy draft beer you have to go here!

Fun place! Friendly locals, 2 pool tables, GoldenTee unit, multiple video ticket machines, outdoor patio that looks great for warmer weather and plenty of adult beverage choices. Pizza, breadsticks and chips for food but other places to pick up food nearby and bring it in here. Say hi to owners Kathy and Ross

This bar & grill is a bit of a dive (lots of personality), but the tenderloin sandwich is fabulous. My wife is from Iowa, and the state is renowned for pork tenderloin (aka breaded pork cutlet) sandwiches. We tried several across the state, and the one at Ambro's Roadhouse was my favorite. It was HUGE! And I liked the tomato, onion, lettuce, and pickle served with it. (Often, at other restaurants, this sandwich comes 'naked' in a bun.) I also liked the 'crinkle cut fries'. There's a wide assortment of beers for beer lovers, so there's no reason to go away thirsty. (Looks like they have wine & hooch, too.)

Mickey's Irish Pub

I've been meeting my son after work here on occasion; it's close to both our workplaces, and it's a perfect place to unwind, visit, and just catch-up. We love it, and in addition to your traditional "Irish Pub" food and beverages, there are free peanuts like the old Ground Rounds use to have. Lately I've seen ladies groups meeting in there, and tons of 'regulars' that most staffers know by name. In fact, what I enjoy most is the staff doing their best to learn your name and menu preferences -- to make it personal, relaxed and comfortable. Our last waitress wanted to know what podcasts we were listening too -- she was great! It just has a cool vibe -- great "neighborhood hangout."

Barn Town Brewery

There is nothing extraordinary about this property except, possibly, the slipperiness of the inside floors. They were kind of scary, actually. Our server was great, and attentive, but the food was mediocre. My omelet was dry, a burger was overcooked, etc. Probably won't return.
