Discover Restaurants offering the best Bangladeshi food in Romford, England, United Kingdom. Romford is a large town in east London, and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Havering. It is located 14.1 miles (22.7 km) northeast of Charing Cross and is one of the major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan. It was historically a market town in the county of Essex and formed the administrative centre of the liberty of Havering, until it was dissolved in 1892. Good road links and the opening of the railway station in 1839 were key to the development of the town and the economic history of Romford is underpinned by a shift from agriculture to light industry and then to retail and commerce. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Romford significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming a municipal borough in 1937 and has formed part of Greater London since 1965. It now forms one of the largest commercial, retail, entertainment and leisure districts outside central London and has a developed night-time economy.

Been a while since I've been in this restaurant but after a particularly boozy session a curry seemed like an excellent idea.We didn't bother with any starters but the poppadoms with chutney / pickle etc. made for an excellent appetiser.I had chicken jalfrezi with boiled rice an onion bhaji & keema nann and all the food was great, it soaked up the beer I'd had earlier nicely.Service was good but the restaurant was more or less empty so that was no surprise really. On reflection today with a clearer head the bill was on the high side working out at roughly £25 a head but then we'd all had a beer and a brandy each so that's probably why.Anyway, very good on this occasion but, from my previous visits, I know this isn't always the case.

Took the family to one of our favourite Indian restaurants. Monday’s and tuesdays there is a set meal for £11.95. A great choice of starters, mains, sides and rice or naan. The food is always served piping hot by very attentive polite staff. Service is great as is the portion size. Back again soon.

Asia Spice

We live in Gidea Park and have four Indian restaurants on our High Street. We met some neighbours who said they always go to Asia Spice. To be honest, we'd never seen the restaurant before - we very rarely travel along Victoria Road, but I thought "why not?" Asia Spice has lots of differently named dishes on their menu, which was a pleasant surprise. So, it was a takeaway for us this time! We decided on lots of starters (so that we could compare), with a few other dishes. So, Onion bhajee, king prawn butterfly, prawn puree, chicken tikka main, special rice, sag ponir and a new one for us ... . lamb paneerwala. Yes, it sounds a lot for two, suffice it to say we had some leftovers, but we wasn't sure of portion size. Rest assured, the portions are plentiful! Turning now to what we thought ........... both my husband and I can honestly say it was one of the best takeaways we have ever had (and we've had a few!). Everything was fresh and tasty, simply gorgeous! Really was scrumptious - could not fault a thing. Oh, and they said delivery between 30-45 minutes and they delivered on time. So, it'll be a visit to Asia Spice next time, not just a takeaway. And, that's the reason I actually posted 'very good' as opposed to 'excellent', because I'd like to pay a visit, test the ambience and service, then I'll post another review.Thank you to our neighbours for the recommendation - very happy indeed. Very happy!
